摘要： A motor control apparatus has a motor driver for driving a motor in accordance with an input of digital-format drive data of a predetermined length, thereby driving a mechanism using the motor as a power source. The drive data, which has been made to correspond to a plurality of drive patterns, is stored in a memory, part of the drive data, which has been read out from the memory by DMA, is replaced with other data, and the resultant data is output to the motor driver. Thus, different drive data can be generated by replacing a part of the drive data stored in the memory with other data, and the generated data can be transferred to the motor driver. This makes it possible to reduce the memory capacity needed for motor control.

摘要： There is provided an output control circuit provided in an integrated circuit that enables any arbitrary internal signal to be specified and output from any output terminal, and hence enable the monitoring of a large number of internal signals even if only a small number of output terminals are provided. A plurality of external output terminals output a plurality of signals existing in the integrated circuit. A plurality of signal output circuits are provided, to which the plurality of internal signals are mutually input. Each of the signal output circuits comprises a signal group select circuit that selects a predetermined signal group from the plurality of internal signals, a logic circuit that carries out logical operations on the selected signal group, and an external output circuit that outputs signals resulting from the logical operations via one of the external output terminals.

The cartridge carries characteristic information including information about manufacturing time of the cartridge. A recovery operation is executed by a discharge recovery device with the recovery operation being determined based on a time difference between the manufacturing time of the cartridge and the loading time when the cartridge is loaded into the loading portion.

摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus is disclosed in which a bubble is created in ink by thermal energy generated in response to a drive signal applied to a heater, and the ink is ejected onto a recording material by expansion of the bubble. The recording apparatus includes a driving device and a changing device. The driving device applies a plurality of driving signals to the heater for each ink droplet ejection. The driving signals include a first driving signal for increasing a temperature of the ink adjacent the heater without creating the bubble, and a second driving signal after the first drive signal for ejecting the ink. An interval is provided between the first and second drive signals. The changing device changes a width of the first drive signal to adjust an amount of ejected ink. The interval is not shorter than 2.6 microseconds and the second drive signal has a constant width.

摘要： In the recording method and apparatus, ink is ejected by thermal energy produced by a heat generating element of a recording head in response to application of driving signals thereto, the driving signals being of plural waveforms including a fixed waveform. The method includes the steps of detecting a temperature of the recording head and applying the driving signals to the heat generating element of the recording head. The waveforms of the driving signals are changed in accordance with the temperature of the recording head when the temperature of the recording head is below a predetermined level, and the waveforms of the driving signals comprise the fixed waveform when the temperature of the recording head exceeds the predetermined level.

摘要： Replacement of a recording head on a recording apparatus is detected on the basis of a serial number allocated to each recording head. The recording head also carries head characteristic information such as color information, shading information and so forth. When the recording head is replaced with a new one, the head characteristic information of the newly mounted recording head is automatically stored, so that head driving conditions are automatically determined to optimize the recording conditions without requiring any manual adjustment. Recovery operation is automatically executed when replacement of the recording head is detected, so that required recording conditions are recovered without manual instructions.
