    摘要: A radio terminal device has an antenna element, a coil, a switch, an RF circuit section and a conductive substrate. The switch is used to switch between a case where current distribution exists only in the antenna element and its vicinities and a case where the current distribution exists not only in the antenna element and its vicinities but also in other places. Additionally, the switch is switched in accordance with the usage pattern in which the user uses the radio terminal device (e.g., telephone call and data communication). This allows the transmission/reception to be performed with the antenna polarization and directivity suitable for the usage pattern. Thus, there can be provided a radio terminal device that exhibits a reception characteristic suitable for a respective situation.

This apparatus connects variable capacitance capacitors VC1 and VC2 for impedance adjustment to transmission antenna element TA1, connects variable capacitance capacitors VC3 and VC4 to reception antenna element RA1 respectively, provides beforehand capacitance values of respective variable capacitance capacitors which are impedance matched in a table in a one-to-one correspondence with the distances between the antenna elements and human body and stores the table in storage section (106). The apparatus completes adaptive control processing for any one of transmission antenna element TA1 and reception antenna element RA1, reads other capacitance values corresponding to the capacitance value at that moment from the table and performs adaptive control processing on other antenna elements using the read values as initial values.

    摘要: Antenna elements are provided along a linear line at regular intervals to be parallel to each other. The antenna elements receive signals transmitted from a communicating partner and output the signals to a receiving beam former. In the receiving beam former, phase shifters phase-shift the received signals input from the antenna elements of an even element number by π. A combiner adds the received signals that are phase-shifted by π in phase shifters and the signals input from the antenna elements of an odd number to form a received beam. With this configuration, it is possible to realize an array antenna apparatus of a small and simple configuration that reduces the radiation of radio waves to the human body and to other equipment and that is influenced little by the human body and by other equipment.

    摘要: A transmitting unit of a portable telephone apparatus transmits radio signals by using at least two antennas and simultaneously energizing those antennas with a predetermined amplitude ratio and a predetermined phase difference so that the direction of the main beam of a radiation pattern has a direction substantially opposite to that of the audio radiating direction from a speaker, and so that the mean effective gain is larger than that of when a single antenna is energized. The above energization of at least two antennas is formed only for transmission of telephone speech. A receiving unit of the portable telephone apparatus receives radio signals by using at least two antennas, and selectively receives, by the diversity receiving system, the radio signal having the highest level of those radio signals received by those antennas.
