    摘要: A method and device for coding and decoding are disclosed. The method includes: dividing a picture to be encoded into several slices, each containing macroblocks continuous in a designated scanning sequence in the picture; dividing slices in the picture into one or more slice sets according to attribute information of the slices, each slice set containing one or more slices; and encoding the slices in the slice sets according to slice and slice set division information to get a coded bit stream of the picture. The decoding method includes: obtaining slice and slice set division information from a bit stream to be decoded and decoding the bit stream according to the obtained slice and slice set division information. The invention improves the performance of video transmission effectively and realizes region based coding. The implementation of coding and decoding is simple and the complexity of coding and decoding systems is reduced.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for realizing adaptive quantization in the process of image/video coding, which includes the following steps: acquiring the parameter information of the neighbor blocks of the current block; determining the quantization mode of the current block according to the parameter information of the neighbor blocks; and performing quantization processing on transform coefficients of the current block by using the determined quantization mode. Wherein, block coding type and motion vector of the neighbor blocks are used as the parameter information for determining the quantization mode of the current block. An apparatus for adaptive quantization in process of image/video coding is provided. The invention can use different quantization mode for adaptive quantization in different image content of an image sequence, thereby improving the subjective quality of the compressed images at the same bit rate.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for performing arithmetic encoding/decoding in an arithmetic encoder is disclosed. It comprises: firstly, when performing binary arithmetic encoding/decoding in the arithmetic encoder, an interval update process for arithmetic encoding/decoding to be performed in the original domain is mapped to the logarithm domain, and the interval update computation is implemented with direct add/subtract operations; during arithmetic encoding/decoding in the logarithm domain, data conversions between the original domain and the logarithm domain are performed by approximations; and after encoding/decoding a symbol, its probability is updated when necessary, the update being performed with add/subtract operations in the logarithm domain. It can be seen that with the arithmetic encoding/decoding solutions of the disclosure, the arithmetic encoding/decoding process and the probability estimation involved therein are mapped to the logarithm domain. Data conversions between the original domain and the logarithm domain are performed by means of approximation equations. Accordingly, complicated computations and table looking-up are avoided effectively. Therefore, the disclosure provides a simple, efficient and suitable solution for performing arithmetic encoding/decoding.
