摘要： An information record medium (1: DVD) having a record track (1a) recorded with at least video information is to be reproduced by a reproducing apparatus (S2), which has a read device (80) and reproduces at least video information while relatively moving the read device along the record track. In the information record medium, at least video information and control information (41: NAVI-PACK, 50: PCI, 51: DSI) comprising access information to access the video information are recorded on the record track such that the video and control informations are divided into a plurality of first data groups (30: VOBU), each of which is a unit able to be accessed by the reproducing apparatus and each of which comprises the video and control informations. In the information record medium, management information (PGCI) including (i) reproduction procedure information prescribing a reproduction procedure of the video information and (ii) a plurality of first search prohibit informations (202, 202a) each indicating a prohibition of a search operation by the reproducing apparatus for respective one of second data groups (61: PGC) each of which comprises a plurality of the first data groups to be reproduced continuously by the reproducing apparatus in accordance with the reproduction procedure information, is collectively recorded at one portion of the record track for each of the second data groups.

摘要： An information recording apparatus (SSI) is provided with: a signal process device (72) for applying a predetermined signal process to a plurality of partial record information blocks constructing whole record information (R) to thereby generate processed partial record information blocks (Sr) each composed of a plurality of predetermined information units (IU), and for generating and outputting recording position information (Sac), which is to be recorded by each of predetermined reproduction units (VOBU) composing the information units, for respective one of the reproduction units. The recording position information indicates recording positions of the reproduction units corresponding to reproduction times of the partial record information blocks within a predetermined range before and after the respective one of the reproduction units on an axis of reproduction time of each of the partial record information blocks. The information recording apparatus is also provided with; a multiplex device (75, 76) for multiplexing the processed partial record information blocks and the recording position information by each of the reproduction units to thereby output multiplexed partial record information (Sap); and a record device (77, 78) for recording the multiplexed partial record information onto the information record medium.

Each of the groups is a predetermined unit able to be accessed by the information reproducing apparatus, and has a sub picture pack in which the sub picture information is contained and a control pack in which the reproduction control information is contained. The reproduction control information includes (i) highlight display control information prescribing at least one of the highlight display of the sub picture information and an operation control corresponding to the sub picture information and (ii) time management information indicating times to manage a start time and an end time respectively of at least one of an effective time period during which the highlight display is effective and an effective time period during which the operation control is effective.

摘要： There is provided an information record medium on which information is recorded so as to permit, even when a reading-out error occurs, subsequent reproduction, an apparatus for recording the same and an apparatus for reproducing the same. According to the recording apparatus of the present invention, there are recorded, on the information record medium of the present invention, data groups provided with data units having at least one of video information and audio information, and reproduction control information having the first identification information for identifying each data group; and the second identification information for identifying the data group to which each data unit belongs, is recorded in each data unit. According to the reproduction apparatus of the present invention, when there is selected a data group comprising data units, there are consecutively read out the first identification information for identifying the selected data group and the second identification information for identifying the data group recorded in the data unit, to which the data unit belongs, and there is reproduced information of the data unit having the second identification information identical with the first identification information.

摘要： An information recording medium is reproduced by an information reproducing apparatus for controlling a reproduction of record information based on a search control information recorded together with the record information, The medium includes: processed record information including a plurality of information units generated by applying a signal processing onto the record information; a search control information for searching, out of the processed record information, a reproduction record unit which is a record unit including the record information to be reproduced. The search control information is multiplexed with the processed record information. The reproduction record unit includes an initial one of the processed record information constituting the information units included in the reproduction record unit which is recorded at a recording position on a recording medium corresponding to a head portion of an area where the processed record information in the reproduction record unit is recorded.

摘要： An apparatus for playing a composite disk containing separate audio-only and video-plus-audio portions, as well as an ordinary compact disk. It is first detected whether the disk being played is a compact disk or a composite disk, and if the disk is a composite disk, whether the portion presently being played is a region containing only audio data or a region containing a frequency modulated video signal recorded in multiplex form with a digital signal. A reference signal for driving a spindle servo circuit is produced as a fixed frequency signal when the disk is a composite disk or the region of a composite disk being played contains only audio data, and as a variable frequency signal of frequency determined in accordance with the frame sync signal contained in the reproduced signal when a region of a composite disk containing a multiplex-type signal is being reproduced.
