摘要: The present disclosure relates generally to building surface joint supports, for example, configured to bridge and support the seam between two building surface panels. The present disclosure relates more particularly to a joint support configured to support a joint between building surface panels. An inner layer of adhesive is distributed over the inner surface of the longitudinal support strip and is configured to bond with a joint compound. The adhesive of the inner layer includes a polysaccharide.

摘要: Disclosed is a building board construction that provides enhanced acoustical properties. In one possible embodiment, the board is a gypsum board with opposing facing sheets and an intermediate set gypsum core. An opened celled polymeric sheet is formed within the gypsum core and gives the resulting board enhanced sound absorption. In an alternative embodiment, individual pieces of polymeric foam are used in stead of the polymeric sheet. Also disclosed are various manufacturing methods whereby boards with enhanced acoustical properties can be formed in an continuous process. The various components of the present disclosure, and the manner in which they interrelate, are described in greater detail hereinafter.

摘要: According to one aspect, a plaster based construction material can include a gypsum based plaster, and at least 1 part by weight biochar per 100 parts by weight gypsum. The construction material can have a nail pull force according to ASTM C1396 of at least 51 lbf or a core hardness according to ASTM C473 Method B of at least 66 N.
According to another aspect, a plaster based construction material can include a gypsum based plaster, at least 1 part by weight bichar per 100 parts by weight gypsum, and a stable or unstable surfactant. The plaster based construction material may have a relatively improved mechanical strength.-

摘要: Disclosed herein are plaster boards that include first and second layers of hardened plaster material, a liner attached to the first layer of hardened plaster material, and a first material (e.g., a polymer material such as a viscoelastic polymer) adhered between the liner and the second layer of hardened plaster material. The liner includes one or more structurally weakened regions each extending substantially from a first edge to a second opposing edge of the plaster board. The structurally weakened regions of the liner may facilitate creation of a fissure that propagates substantially within a plane within the plaster board. Methods for making the plaster boards may involve drying wet plaster material while it is in contact with a liner having structurally weakened regions, processing a liner to form its structurally weakened regions while in contact with wet plaster material, or processing a liner to form its structurally weakened regions while in contact with hardened plaster material.

摘要: A building board, particularly a gypsum board, can have a high fastener sealability if protected by the combination of thin layers of an extruded polymer film and a thermoplastic coating layer. The combination of extruded polymer film and thermoplastic coating layer is designed such that the gypsum board can also tolerate overdriven fasteners, thus exceeding the requirements of ASTM D1970-15.
