Abstract: Disclosed is a method of segmenting touching numeral strings contained in handwritten touching numeral strings, and recognizing the numeral strings by use of feature information and recognized results provided by inherent structure of digits. The method comprises the steps of: receiving a handwritten numeral string extracted from a pattern document; smoothing a curved numeral image of the handwritten numeral string, and searching connecting components in the numeral image; determining whether or not the numeral string is a touching numeral string; if it is determined that the numeral string is the touching numeral string, searching a contour of the touching numeral string image; searching candidate segmentation points in the contour, and segmenting sub-images; computing a segmentation confidence value on each segmented sub-image by use of a segmentation error function to select the sub-image with the highest segmentation confidence value as a segmented numeral image in the touching numeral string image; if it is determined in the step c that the numeral string is not the touching numeral string, extracting a feature to recognize the segmented numeral image; segmenting the numeral image selected from the touching numeral string in the highest segmenting confidence value; and obtaining remaining numeral string image.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a capacitive micro-electro-mechanical switch and method of manufacturing the same. In the capacitive micro-electro-mechanical switch for use in the radio frequency (RF) and the microwave driven by the electrostatic force, a capacitor of a 3-dimensional structure is formed on a signal transmission line. An ON capacitance is increased without increasing an capacitor area while preventing an increase in an OFF capacitance using the capacitor. Thus, an ON/OFF capacitance ratio of the capacitive micro-electro-mechanical switch can be increased and insertion loss and isolation characteristic could be improved.

Abstract: A composite network protective/recovering device includes first to fourth input/output (I/O) modules. The first and third I/O modules are operational modules and the second and fourth I/O modules are protective modules. A first span connection group connects the first I/O operational module with the second I/O protective module. A second span connection group connects the third I/O operational module with the fourth I/O protective module to perform span switching. A first bidirectional line switching ring connects the first I/O operational module and the third I/O operational module to form a bidirectional ring which has two lines in each direction. A second bidirectional line switching ring is connected to the first to fourth I/O modules to form transmitting/receiving operational lines which include two lines in each direction and protective lines which include two lines in each direction. Cross-connection (DXC) module performs cross-connecting function between signals which are transferred through the I/O modules and classifies signals to be added or dropped.
