摘要： A drill pipe and casing protector comprises an annular body having two pieces with identical edges. A first edge includes at least two opposing formations longitudinally formed thereon whereby when one piece is inverted with respect to the either piece, the first edges mate to form a pivotable connection allowing the body to be opened and closed about a pipe. The second edges of each piece include opposing interlocks which form an aperture along the second edge when the body is closed. The aperture receives a locking pin to retain the body in a closed position around a drill pipe as well as around a bushing assembly.

摘要： A well pump sucker rod guide which is a tubular integral body element formed of an elastic minimum friction type material and provided with a longitudinal bore formed along the longitudinal axis of the body, a transverse mounting slot opening from a side of the body into the bore dividing the body into opposite end portions, and a longitudinal mounting slot in each end portion extending radially inwardly into the bore and opening at one end through an end of the body and at the other end into the transverse slot, one of the longitudinal slots extending in the opposite radial directions from the other longitudinal slot, and each said slot being defined by radially outwardly diverging guide walls which also diverge toward the transverse mounting slot. The guide is mounted on sucker rod sections to centralize the reciprocating rod in a production tubing in which a pump is mounted and operated by the rod.

摘要： A drill pipe protector is disclosed which provides a fluid-tight hydraulic seal between the protector and the drill pipe. The protector comprises a cylindrical body of an elastomer which is longitudinally split and encases a cylindrical and similarly split metal band. A sealing bead is formed along the periphery of the inside surface of the elastomeric body and along the longitudinal split therein. Under compression the sealing bead prevents fluids from entering between the drill pipe and the protector. In a preferred embodiment the metal band is concave and is adapted to receive a tapered locking pin which adjustably latches the protector into optimum frictional engagement with the drill pipe.

摘要： A rod guide apparatus for a reciprocating rod comprised of two substantially identical half sections which include semicircular recesses therein and which are adapted to be lockingly clamped together adjacent opposite sides of the outer periphery of the rod whereby the rod extends through a bore formed by the semicircular recesses in the half sections. By the present invention each of the half sections includes at least one longitudinally extending ridge on a surface thereof within said semicircular recess whereby when the half sections are clamped together adjacent opposite sides of the rod, the ridges are positioned on opposite sides of the rod and deform the bore formed by the recesses through which the rod passes into a cross section of elliptical shape so that the clamped together half sections contact the periphery of the rod at at least four points thereby preventing slippage of apparatus on the rod.

The tri-spacer consists of a one-piece triangular member with flexible ends providing a centering action with very little constriction, binding, or drag on the well casing when the drop pipe and electric wires are lowered or raised in the well, and at the same time keeping the drop pipe and electric wires centered. The tri-spacer includes an insert wedge for locking action to the well casing and a sharp annular ridge on the inner diameter of the tri-spacer making an impression in the drop pipe.

摘要： A thrust or stop-collar principally adapted for use on oil well drill pipes, sucker rods, guides, and similar equipment, combines a base of elastomeric or similar material with a novel spring insert. Configuration of the collar plus the effect of the specially constructed insert combine to give a very great bond between the shaft and the collar while permitting ready and economical installation and removal. An alternate embodiment provides a removable gripping ring inserted concentrically around the inner surface of the collar and disposed by geometry and construction to exert additional bond between the shaft and collar as further insurance against slipping while retaining the ease of installation and removal.
