Abstract: An atomizer for applying a coating includes a nozzle plate, an actuator, and an acoustic focusing device. The nozzle plate defines at least one aperture. The actuator is configured to oscillate to form pressure waves within a fluid to eject the fluid from the nozzle plate. The acoustic focusing device focuses the pressure waves toward the apertures.

Abstract: An automated drywalling system network that including one or more automated drywalling systems that each has a robotic arm. The automated drywalling system network can also include a computational planner that generates instructions for the one or more automated drywalling systems to perform two or more drywalling tasks associated with a target wall assembly. The two or more drywalling tasks can include a hanging task that includes hanging pieces of drywall on studs of the target wall assembly; a mudding task that includes applying joint compound to pieces of drywall hung on studs of the target wall assembly; a sanding task that includes sanding joint compound applied to the pieces of drywall hung on studs of the target wall assembly; and a painting task that includes painting sanded the joint compound applied to the pieces of drywall hung on studs of the target wall assembly.

Abstract: A sprinkler configured to shoot a liquid, such as water or a mixture of water and a gel, may include a chasse, which may be an elongate and substantially hollow center beam with a first closed end and a second open end; a plurality of adjustable legs extending from each of the first closed end and the second end; a top post extending upward from a central portion of the chasse; a sprinkler head operatively attached to the top post; and an end post extending from the second open end, wherein the end post is configured to operatively attach to a liquid source. The angle at which each leg extends from the chasse may be independently adjustable to accommodate various terrains and sloped surfaces without impeding functionality of the sprinkler.

Abstract: A material applicator for controlling application of at least one material on a substrate includes a housing and an array plate with an applicator array positioned within the housing. The applicator array has a plurality of micro-applicators and each of the plurality of micro-applicators has an ultrasonic transducer, a material inlet, a reservoir, and a micro-applicator plate with a plurality of apertures. The applicator plate is in mechanical communication with the ultrasonic transducer such that at least one material is ejected through the plurality of apertures as atomized droplets when the ultrasonic transducer vibrates the micro-applicator plate.

Abstract: A valve includes an inlet and an outlet; a body including a first seat and a second seat; a cavity in the body; a piston positioned in the cavity; and a pilot ball adjacent the piston and that is disposed in a pilot seat, and a rear surface of the piston butts against the pilot seat at a maximum open position of the piston. Each of the first seat and the second seat is a seat that is a mechanical stop that prevents the piston from extending further than the closed position. The piston includes a flat front face that contacts the first seat when in the closed position, and a nose extension that extends outward and away from a center portion of the front face, and the nose extension has an opening through a center of a front surface thereof.

Abstract: A system, device and method for delivering CO2 or other gases to plants in fields, orchards, vineyards and the like. A stake with a windbreak structure and gaseous emitters on the upwind side creates a leeward wind eddy surrounding a plant, such as an orchards sapling. This establishes and maintains a gaseous microclimate beneficial to the plant. The device delivers CO2 gas to a plant in an agricultural field, orchard, grove, orchard of the like. The device includes an elongated base adapted to be adjustably placed on the ground a predetermined distance from the plant, upwind of the plant. A wind foil is adjustably connected to the base along its elongated length. The wind foil has a curvilinear geometry with a first face having a generally convex configuration, and a second face having a generally concave configuration. An emitter assembly is disposed on the second face of the wind foil. A gas supply conduit is communicatively connected to the emitter and adapted to be connected to a gas supply. A system including multiple devices and a method of making and using the device and system are also disclosed.

Abstract: A paint robot having a sprayer that is substantially fixed in an orientation in which the spray fan is perpendicular to the wall surface may be ineffective at painting portions of a wall that are not substantially flat (e.g., flat). These portions may include one or more protrusions and/or recesses such as, for example: (1) a chair rail or other suitable piece of molding; (2) one or more window ledges and/or sills; (3) one or more exit signs; (4) one or more thermostats; (5) etc. As such, it may be desirable to incorporate an articulating spray head (e.g., a pivoting sprayer) into an automated mobile painting system in order to, for example, paint the upper and lower portions of the wall by angling the paint sprayer to paint over and/or under the various protrusions which may exist on the wall as discussed above.
