摘要: An improved counter-rotating (CR) differential electric motor assembly is utilized to power an aircraft vehicle or fan for moving a gas and includes two oppositely rotating propellers that may be mounted to horizontal flight and vertical lift-off aircraft or a fan housing in spaces similar in size to mounting spaces for traditional motors having only one propeller and includes a hollow central shaft and slip ring assembly that is mounted either within, slight above, or total above oppositely rotating components and around the hollow central shaft.

摘要: An electronics assembly including a motor controller electronics arrangement includes a housing enclosing a solid-state switch array, a cold plate arranged within the housing and in thermal communication with the solid-state switch array, and a feeder cable. The feeder cable is electrically connected to the solid-state switch array, has a coolant jacket extending thereabout, is separated from the switch arrangement by the housing, and is in liquid communication with the cold plate to limit heat communicated by the feeder cable into the housing. Electrical systems and methods of cooling feeder cables are also described.

摘要: An aircraft and a method for controlling such an aircraft comprising two turboshaft engines, an electric machine, an electrical power source and a rotor rotated by one of the two turboshaft engines and/or by the electric machine. The aircraft comprises at least one controller configured to implement, at all times, a current operating mode of the electric machine and the electrical power source, selected from seven operating modes, allowing standard start-up or fast start-up respectively of a turboshaft engine in a switched-off state or in a standby state. The electric machine can also provide first or second levels of power assistance to a turboshaft engine in order to transmit engine torque to the gas generator of that turboshaft engine, apply mechanical resistance to a turboshaft engine or help ventilate a turboshaft engine in a switched-off state.

摘要: A system for the prioritization of flight controls in an electric aircraft is illustrated. The system includes a plurality of flight components, a sensor, and a computing device. The plurality of flight components are coupled to the electric aircraft. The sensor is coupled to each flight component of the plurality of flight components. Each sensor of the plurality of sensors is configured to detect a failure event of a flight component of the plurality of flight components and generate a failure datum associated to the flight component of the plurality of flight components. The computing device is communicatively connected to the sensor and is configured to receive the failure datum associated to the flight component of the plurality of flight component from the sensor, determine a prioritization element as a function of the failure datum, and restrict at least a flight element as a function of the prioritization element.

摘要: An electric propulsor is provided. The electric propulsor includes a core cowl and an outer cowl. A first air flowpath is defined radially outward of the outer cowl and a second air flowpath is defined between the core cowl and the outer cowl. The electric propulsor also includes one or more electric machines, a fan rotatably drivable by at least one electric machine, and a booster having a plurality of airfoils disposed at least in part in the second air flowpath, the booster being rotatably drivable by at least one electric machine for compressing air flowing along the second air flowpath. The electric propulsor further includes a heat exchanger disposed within the second air flowpath downstream of the booster, the heat exchanger being in thermal communication with at least one of the one or more electric machines and/or a gearbox mechanically coupled with the fan.

摘要: An aircraft wing configuration for a vertical or a short take-off and landing aircraft having a plurality of propeller-blown wings mounted at different longitudinal locations along a fuselage of the vertical take-off and landing aircraft, producing two or more lifting surfaces, fixed at a predetermined acute wing angle greater than 0° and substantially less than 90° relative to a horizontal plane, and having a plurality of flaps disposed behind the wings. The configuration has a plurality of propellers distributed in front of the plurality of wings producing two or more lifting surfaces and mounted such that the wings are externally blown by forced airstreams from the propellers. The propellers produce distributed thrust components, and the plurality of flaps are in the forced airstreams of the propellers when one or more of the flaps is in an extended position.
