Abstract: An ecological system model for a self-sustaining and resilient human habitation on the Moon and Mars and for food security and climate change mitigation anywhere on Earth. It takes into account the ecological and biological theories and principles by which Earth ecosystems function and applies this knowledge to the establishment of a closed ecological system that mimics the self-sustaining and resilient capacity of Earth. Three zones are used for human habitation, agriculture, and ecological buffer. Expedited primary succession is used to initially establish the agricultural zone and ecological buffer zone with fully functioning biogeochemical cycles and ecological services. Competitive redundancy ensures the security of the food crops while maintaining the biodiversity of plant species. Ecological service reservoirs provide the additional buffering capacity that would normally be supplies by surrounding ecosystems on Earth.

Abstract: A system and method determine a size and a shape for identical geodesic modules that are used to form a structure. The system and method may include analyzing input data regarding a size and a shape of the structure to be formed, and determining the size and the shape for each of the identical geodesic modules based on the size and the shape of the structure to be formed. The structure may include a framework including the identical geodesic modules. Each of the geodesic modules has a size and a shape that are the same as all of the other of the geodesic modules. A forming system and method position a framework and a covering skin of the structure in relation to a mandrel, and drill and rivet the framework to the covering skin with a plurality of operating heads.

Abstract: A panelized complex polyhedron structure can be constructed quickly and inexpensively from a plurality panels. According to one embodiment, the structure includes a plurality of panels, wherein a first panel comprises an integrated connecting feature formed unitarily with the first panel and including a faceted feature connected to a plain end of a second panel. According to another embodiment, the first panel includes integrated connecting features including a plurality of planar faceted features, wherein one of the faceted features is connected to a plain end of the second panel. The plurality of planar faceted features are oriented at angles selected to enable a plurality of panel connections necessary to construct the structure. In one embodiment, the panel comprising the integrated connecting features is formed unitarily.

Abstract: A tree house propped upon a simulated tree trunk has a platform, a cabin thereon, a main support column supported in a ground anchor, a plurality of diagonal struts, and a variety of simulate tree dressings for the column and struts. The cabin is built upon the platform and forms an inner living space that is served with potable water utilities, waste water utilities, and public-utility electric service. The main support column extends downward from the platform about a relative center of mass of the platform and cabin together, to ultimately sink into the ground anchor. The plurality of diagonal struts extended diagonally downward from the cabin radially spaced away from where the column extends downward from the platform, and join the column intermediate the platform and ground anchor. There furthermore are simulated tree trunk dressing covering the column, and, simulated tree branch dressing covering the struts.
