Abstract: Communication systems and communication control methods are disclosed. In one example, a slave device belonging to a group of devices to which arbitration is applicable sequentially transmits a start bit and a first address including a first bit having a value different from a corresponding first bit of predetermined pattern data. A master device sequentially transmits the start bit and the predetermined pattern data. The master device arbitrates the master device and the first slave device based on the value of the first bit.

Abstract: A system includes a multi-conductor bus, a master device coupled to the multi-conductor bus, and at least one slave device coupled to the multi-conductor bus. The multi-conductor bus has a clock line and a data line. The master device is arranged to transmit an address configuration sequence, and the at least one slave device is arranged to configurably determine its own address based on at least one portion of the address configuration sequence. The at least one slave device has a physical address configuration input coupled to either a fixed voltage potential or a changing voltage potential. The at least one slave device is arranged with a first address during a pre-initialization state and arranged with a second address during a post-initialization state. During the post-initialization state, the first address and the second address are a same address when the address configuration sequence represents the first address and the first address and the second address are different addresses when the address configuration sequence does not represent the first address.

Abstract: An HDMI apparatus and a method for controlling the same are provided. The HDMI apparatus includes an HDMI connection port, a control circuit, a master circuit, a slave circuit, and a switch circuit. The master circuit and the slave circuit are respectively configured to generate a master HDMI output signal and a slave HDMI output signal. The switch circuit is selectively conducted in a first conductive state and a second conductive state according to a control signal generated by the control circuit. In the first conductive state, the switch circuit is electrically connected to the master circuit, so that the master HDMI output signal is output through the HDMI connection port. In the second conductive state, the switch circuit is electrically connected to the slave circuit, so that the slave HDMI output signal is output through the HDMI connection port.

Abstract: A system/method adapted to aggregate vehicle or operator data for reconstructing a road event for authority purposes, said system comprising: a storage device with stored data (information) collected from an aggregating device (controller) in communication with at least one of various sensors, data capturing means, image capturing means, or metrics; a reporting module that evaluates collected information stored in the storage device to determine a driving behavior of a driver associated with the vehicle, and determine whether the driving behavior includes one or more triggering events that are one or more of operator-defined or authority-defined for communication to at least one of an authority source; a communication module enabling querying for at least one of said information by at least one of an authority source for reconstructing the road event of interest upon a threshold-grade road event triggered and relaying the reconstructed road event to at least one of an authority source for at least one of the authority purpose; wherein the authorized source is at least one of a Department of Motor Vehicle, insurance company, vehicle manufacturer, or law enforcement; and wherein the authority purpose is at least one of a revocation of license, filing of accident report, increasing or lowering insurance premiums, issuing a violation, or issuing a warning in real-time or postponed.

Abstract: Methods and systems for a heads-up configurable vehicle dash display are provided. Specifically, a configurable dash may comprise one or more displays that are capable of receiving input from a user. At least one of these displays may be configured to present a plurality of custom applications that, when manipulated by at least one user, are adapted to control and/or monitor functions associated with a vehicle and/or associated peripheral devices. It is anticipated that the function and appearance of the plurality of custom applications may be altered via user and/or processor input.
