摘要: A method for determining correct performance of a sampling pipe in an aspirated particle and/or gas sampling system. The method includes causing a change in airflow in a sampling pipe of the aspirated particle and/or gas sampling system that induces a change in at least one airflow property within the sampling pipe, and detecting an effect of the change in said airflow property. Also disclosed is a method for determining correct performance of an aspirated particle gas sampling system. The method includes determining correct performance of a sampling pipe in the aspirated particle and/or gas sampling and determining correct performance of a detector in the aspirated particle and/or gas sampling system, wherein a test fluid is introduced to the aspirated particle and/or gas sampling system at or near the detector.

摘要: An inspection device and method for testing and inspecting integrity of a container (200) is disclosed. The inspection device has an angled member (102) and a viewing member (104) secured to the angled member. Together, the angled and viewing members are configured to hold a container to be analyzed. The inspection device also includes a cradle (106) secured to the angled member, the cradle including a cavity (108) configured to hold the angled member at an angle. The inspection device also includes a light source holder (110) secured to the viewing member, a leg member (112) extending from the light source holder, and at least one light source (114) extending through the light source holder. The light source has a first end extending outwardly from the light source holder and a second end extending within the light source holder from which light projects. The light from the light source is projected toward the viewing member. The viewing member includes at least one viewing window (105). A lens is located between the second end of the light source and the viewing member, and a filter is located between the lens and the viewing member.

摘要: A device adapted for installation onto a toilet overflow pipe to indicate a leaking condition of a toilet flush valve. The device having a stem portion with a diameter configured for receipt within an interior diameter of a toilet overflow tube. The device including a housing forming a reservoir for collection of water prior to entering the overflow tube. The reservoir including a cavity for the placement of a water soluble pigment, wherein the pigment is dissolved within water in the housing and into the overflow tube. An alternate embodiment of the device, includes a stay member configured to support a ball float member in an off condition.

摘要: Methods for testing the integrity of a containment sump in contact with a matrix with a testing apparatus are provided. The testing apparatus may include an underground fixture positioned in contact the matrix, a test chamber, a conduit structure providing fluid communication between the underground fixture and the test chamber, and a pressure source for exerting a pressure that is communicated to the underground fixture via the conduit structure. In some embodiments, a method may include: releasing a test media into the containment sump; generating a negative pressure within the testing apparatus for a time period; and testing for the presence of test media within the testing apparatus. In other embodiments, a method may include: releasing a test media into the testing apparatus; generating a positive pressure within the testing apparatus for a time period; and testing for the presence of test media within the containment sump.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for reducing evaporative emissions from a vehicle by performing a fine leak test at a vehicle assembly plant. Fuel tank pressure generated after a green tank fueling event is monitored as the vehicle moves along an assembly line. A leak is determined based on a rate of pressure bleed-up over the duration, and accordingly the vehicle is directed to a repair station.

摘要: A system and method for remote detection, marking and/or sealing leaks in pipe or duct networks are provided. Aerosolized sealant particles that have a surface tackiness that diminishes over time are introduced into the pipe interior. A pressure differential is created and the micron scale particles adhere to the leak edges and to other particles as they are brought to the leaks and then leave the gas streamlines. Control of particle size, drying rate and particle residence time in the pipe interior allows control over the treatment area so that leaks are sealed in the pipes without sealing purposeful openings such as pilot lights or gas valves. This control also produces seals in duct systems with minimal tack at the time the duct systems are returned to service. Particles that do not participate in the formation of a seal can be collected or flushed through the system.
