Abstract: An occlusive implant system may include a catheter having a lumen extending from a proximal opening to a distal opening, a core wire slidably disposed within the lumen, and an occlusive implant having an expandable framework configured to shift between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration, and an occlusive element disposed on the expandable framework. The expandable framework may include a plurality of anchor members extending radially outward from the expandable framework, at least some of the plurality of anchor members each have a barb projecting circumferentially therefrom. The occlusive implant may be releasably connected to a distal portion of the core wire.

Abstract: An adaptor for adjusting electrical signals propagated along an electrically-conductive path between a drive unit and a catheter of an intravascular ultrasound imaging system includes a catheter connector disposed along a first end of a housing and configured to receive the catheter. A drive-unit connector is disposed along a second end of the housing and is configured to couple the adaptor to the drive unit. A catheter-conductor interface electrically-couples to a transducer conductor of the catheter. A drive-unit-conductor interface electrically-couples to an electrical conductor of the drive unit. An adaptor conductor electrically-couples the catheter-conductor interface to the drive-unit-conductor interface. A tuning element is electrically-coupled to the adaptor conductor and is configured to adjust electrical signals propagating along the adaptor conductor based, at least in part, on an operational frequency of a transducer disposed in the catheter.

Abstract: The present application relates to medical devices for establishing an anastomosis between body lumens. In one example, an elongate member is configured to move between a first configuration and a second configuration. The elongate member may comprise a first end, a second end, and a middle segment extending therebetween. In the second configuration, each of the first and second ends may bend towards a center plane of the middle segment in a bent back end and form one or more loops.

Abstract: A device for occluding flow of materials is formed as a simple structure permitting a compact delivery configuration which may shift to an expanded deployment configuration. The device has at least one expandable portion formed of a plurality of elongated longitudinally extending frame elements. The frame elements may be spaced apart to define spaces therebetween, and a flexible occlusive material may be provided to block flow of material through such spaces. A flexible occlusive material may form one of two expandable portions of the device without the need for frame elements.

Abstract: Medical devices as wells as methods for making and using medical devices are disclosed. An example medical device may include a left atrial appendage device. The left atrial appendage device may include an expandable frame configured to shift between a first configuration and an expanded configuration. A fabric mesh may be disposed along at least a portion of the expandable frame. An anti-thrombogenic coating may be disposed along the fabric mesh.

Abstract: A variable-length microwave ablation probe is provided. The probe is configured to have a range of resonant frequencies. The probe includes a microwave antenna, an outer conductor, and a cap. The probe further includes a radiation window that is at least partially transparent to microwave energy. The distal boundary of the outer conductor or the proximal boundary of the cap varies in distance from the probe distal end. The probe can have a choke length, an arm length, a radiating portion length, and a cap length. The lengths can each affect the resonant frequency of the antenna. Some examples provide a variable choke length, a variable arm length, a variable radiating portion length, and/or a variable cap length.

Abstract: An implant for occluding a left atrial appendage may include an expandable framework including a first framework portion and a second framework portion, wherein the expandable framework is configured to shift along a longitudinal axis between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration. The second framework portion may be disposed radially inward of the first framework portion in the collapsed configuration. The expandable framework includes a proximal hub and a distal hub. The first framework portion may be fixedly attached to the proximal hub and the distal hub. The second framework portion may be fixedly attached to the proximal hub and the distal hub.

Abstract: Various apparatuses to attach a first medical device to a second medical device are described that allow the physician to grasp only a single device while the other device remains securely attached to the one being grasped. The apparatuses, once they are attached to the first medical device, are designed to be easily and quickly attached and detached to a second medical device, normally only requiring the use of one hand. Furthermore, the apparatuses oftentimes include a base that can easily couple and decouple from the portion that is attached to the second medical device so that if the need arises to separately use the second medical device, it can be decoupled from the first medical device without completely removing the apparatus from the second medical device.
