Abstract:
A tensioning device for an elevator air cord that forms a loop has: a support having a relatively accessible first surface and a relatively inaccessible second surface; a holder on the second surface for fixedly holding a first end of the air cord; a tensioning device on said second surface for holding a second end of said air cord such that the tension of the loop of air cord may be adjusted; and key communicating between the first and second surfaces for manipulating the tensioning device to adjust the tension of the air cord loop.
Abstract:
A window regulator comprising a vertically extending support member having respectively on upper and lower ends thereof turn up guide members, a drive cable extending between the two turn up guide members and being connected to a movable driven member such as a bracket connected to a window glass, and a drive mechanism for moving the drive cable. One of the turn up guide members is movably supported on the support member such that the distance between the turn up guide members can be changed, and a spring is provided to urge the movable turn up guide member in the direction separating from the stationary turn up guide member.
Abstract:
A mechanism particularly well suited for converting bidirectional rotation, as of a reversible electric motor or a hand crank, into the linear up and down motion of a windowpane relative to the frame of a passenger car door. Included is an elongate guide rail gently curved longitudinally to conform to the vertical curvature of the vehicular door and providing a vertical guideway on its convex side. A wire rope or cable is looped about a pair of terminal guide pulleys or nonrotatable guides on the opposite ends of the guide rail. One of the two stretches of the cable is coupled to a windowpane carriage which is coupled to the windowpane for joint up and down movement therewith along the guideway. A drive mechanism including a drive reel is mounted to the guide rail and coupled to the other stretch of the cable for bidirectionally driving the windowpane carriage along the guideway. The drive mechanism is compactly disposed on the concave side of the guide rail for minimal space requirement.
Abstract:
A hinge support system for a cabinet door to prevent the skewing down of the door during movement of the door from the closed position to a retracted position. The system includes pulleys mounted on the side wall so the cabinet with a cable connected around the pulleys and with the ends of the cable connected to the slides for the sliding hinge assemblies.
Abstract:
A controller for controlling the movement of a member such as a sliding door driven by a motor. The door is controlled by the use of a motion detector coupled with the door. Pulses from the motion detector are counted by control circuitry, and the door is moved at a reduced speed in the region of its limits of travel. The limits are defined by the number of pulses from the motion detector equalling a predetermined value. The motor is de-energized if a stationary state of the door is detected in the low speed region, and reversed if a stationary condition is detected in the remainder of its movement.
Abstract:
A gearmotor for the alternate drive of two operations has a housing which receives a drive pinion, mounted on the output shaft of the reduction gear. The drive pinion is able to engage alternately with a first rack cable A and a second rack cable B, both mounted parallel in a sliding guide that can move in the housing in a plane perpendicular to the shaft of the drive pinion between two end positions in each of which one of the two cables is engaged with the drive pinion while the other cable is in a disengaged position. A device is provided for actuating the sliding guide. Application is particularly for electrical equipment of a motor vehicle side door.
Abstract:
A door window regulator for vertically moving a door window glass of a vehicle includes a wire which is stretched between upper and lower pulleys respectively disposed at the upper and lower portions of a door such that the wire forms a closed loop. A wire hook is secured to a portion of the wire between the upper and lower pulleys and further secured to a wire mounting bracket which is secured to the window glass. The wire mounting bracket has a box-like portion into which the wire hook is inserted. The wire hook is prevented from coming off by a bent portion which projects from a portion of the wire mounting bracket. A synthetic resin is applied to the respective contact surfaces of the wire hook and the wire mounting bracket for the purpose of cushioning.
Abstract:
A window regulator for operating a slidable window panel. The window regulator includes a drive drum mounted for rotation in a wire winding direction to wind a first wire having one end mounted on a window panel carrier and in a wire unwinding direction to unwind the first wire. A driven drum is mounted for rotation in a wire winding direction to wind a second wire having one end mounted to the carrier and in a wire unwinding direction to unwind the second wire. The drive and driven drums come into connection with each other for rotation of the driven drum in unison with the drive drum only when the drive drum rotates in its wire unwinding direction. A device is provided for making a connection between the drive and driven drums for rotation of the driven drum in unison with the drive drum in response to rotation of the drive drum in its wire winding direction.
Abstract:
An operating mechanism for the window in a motorcar door and the like includes guiding devices, including at least one deflecting element, which engage a wire, cable or other elongated tension member and guide the tension member on the door in a loop-shaped path when the tension member is driven in the path alternatively in two opposite, longitudinal directions. The motion of the tension member is transmitted to the window. The tension member stretches under the longitudinal stresses exerted thereon by the drive and the window and needs to be tensioned. According to the invention, a spring in a permanently stressed condition biases the deflecting element in a direction to lengthen the path of the tension member and for thereby compensating for slack in the engaged portion of the tension member when the tension member moves in one longitudinal direction, whereby the spring reaches a partly relaxed condition. A protecting mechanism protects the spring against return from the partly relaxed condition toward the stressed condition when the tension member moves in the opposite direction.
Abstract:
The locking device comprises a rod and cooperates, on the one hand, with a ratchet wheel fixed onto the winch drum and, on the other hand, with a flap comprising a spring and which is maintained in the lowered position by a breaking pane, destruction of said breaking pane freeing the flap which under action of the spring raises the locking device whereby freeing the ratchet wheel and the winch drum of which the cable freely unrolls under action of a motor opening the dome shaped member.
