摘要: A collision sensor module configured to be attached to a surface of a vehicle. The module includes a collision sensor circuit board configured to detect acceleration indicative of a vehicle collision event. The exterior of the module is defined by a housing that includes a rigid part and a flexible part. The rigid part is configured to define a wing portion for attaching the rigid part to the surface, provide an underside surface of the rigid part to couple the collision sensor circuit board to the surface in a manner effective for the circuit board to detect when the vehicle is involved in a collision event. The flexible part is configured to sealingly contact the rigid part and the collision sensor circuit board in a manner effective to seal the protective cavity when the rigid part is attached to the surface and thereby protect the collision sensor circuit board.

The conductive sheet material is preferably a wire mesh which provides shielding from electrical anomalies and grounding of the circuit boards via exposed wire mesh pads and adjacent ground clips. Major components and subassemblies are self-fixturing during the final assembly process, eliminating the need for dedicated tools, fixtures and assembly equipment.

摘要: A lightweight radio/CD player for vehicular application is virtually “fastenerless” and includes a case and frontal interface formed of polymer based material that is molded to provide details to accept audio devices such as playback mechanisms (if desired) and radio receivers, as well as the circuit boards required for electrical control and display. The case and frontal interface are of composite structure, including an insert molded electrically conductive wire mesh screen that has been pre-formed to contour with the molding operation. The wire mesh provides EMC, RFI, BCI and ESD shielding and grounding of the circuit boards via exposed wire mesh pads and adjacent ground clips. The PCB architecture is bifurcated into a first board carrying common circuit components in a surface mount configuration suitable for high volume production, and a second board carrying application specific circuit components in a wave soldered stick mount configuration. The major components and subassemblies are self-fixturing during the final assembly process, eliminating the need for dedicated tools, fixtures and assembly equipment. The major components and subassemblies self-interconnect by integral guide and connection features effecting “slide lock” and “snap lock” self-interconnection. The radio architecture includes improved push buttons employing 4-bar living hinge linkage and front loaded decorative trim buttons.

摘要: A communication assembly is provided for a vehicle to communicate audio sound inside and outside the vehicle. The communication assembly includes a housing such as an exterior rearview mirror housing. The housing has a sound port in communication with an outside environment external to the vehicle. The sound communication assembly also includes an audio speaker and microphone located in the housing in audio communication with the sound port. The audio speaker is operable to provide audio sound to the outside environment external to the vehicle. The communication assembly further includes a communication link coupled to the audio speaker and microphone for providing signals to the audio speaker and microphone to broadcast audio sound to the outside environment.

摘要: A control assembly comprising a switch pad and a circuit board. The switch pad has a connection member, a first contact adjacent the connection member, and a flexible dome having a second contact. The circuit board is engaged with the switch pad and includes an engagement area engaged with the connection member, third contacts adjacent the engagement area and fourth contacts. The flexible dome of the switch pad is configured to be depressed to engage the second contact with the fourth contacts to electrically connect the fourth contacts. The first contact electrically connects the third contacts when the circuit board is engaged with the switch pad. The first contact and the third contacts form a first circuit for determining if the switch pad is properly engaged with the circuit board such that the second contact will form a second circuit with the fourth contacts when the flexible dome is depressed.

摘要: An encased electrical assembly includes a housing, a printed circuit board (PCB) and a cover. The housing includes a plurality of receiving apertures and the PCB includes a plurality of securing apertures shaped to receive a conductive fastener for securing the PCB to the housing. The PCB includes a plurality of conductive traces with two of the conductive traces having first ends electrically connected to a different one of two electrical contacts that are electrically accessible from outside the housing and second ends routed to different ones of the securing apertures. Each of the remaining conductive traces are routed between a different pair of the securing apertures such that when each of the securing apertures receives a secured conductive fastener, continuity is achieved between all of the conductive traces. The cover, when attached to the housing, obscures at least one of the conductive fasteners. However, the presence of the conductive fasteners can be determined by performing a continuity check between the two electrical contacts.

摘要: A rubber valve plate is sandwiched between a stator and a cover. Ports in the stator for coupling to a vacuum source and vacuum motors are aligned with poppets molded in the valve plate. A manifold in the plate joins regions surrounding the valves to couple the vacuum source to all the valves. Openings in the cover plate allow a dome of each poppet to protrude. A rotary actuator adjacent the cover is configured to selectively engage the domes to actuate certain poppets which are moved against the stator to close the port to vacuum or are allowed to move toward the cover to connect the port to vacuum.
