Abstract:
A rigid cap is provided for a motor vehicle, in particular, for the engine of a motor vehicle. The rigid cap has a first layer made of a metal material and at least a second layer comprising polyamide 11. Preferably, the second layer is made entirely of polyamide 11 and, even more preferably, entirely covers the first layer. The cap may be a press-fit cap or a threaded cap.
Abstract:
A transmission belt is described which comprises a body made of a first elastomeric material, a plurality of teeth and a plurality of longitudinal cords buried in the body of the belt and a back. The belt has a working surface on said teeth and the working surface is at least partially covered by a covering made of a plastic and/or metal material. Defining the area comprised between the plane defined by the neutral axis of the cords, the working surface and the median transverse planes of two adjacent teeth as the unitary longitudinal section, the covering preferably occupies at least 25% of the unitary longitudinal section.
Abstract:
Poly-V belt comprising a body made of elastomeric material, preferably EPDM, a plurality of threadlike resistant inserts longitudinally embedded in the body, and a coupling portion integrally connected to the body and comprising a plurality of V-shaped ribs arranged side by side and alternated with V-shaped grooves. According to the present invention the belt comprises a layer of a thermoplastic material which covers the ribs at least partially, and a layer of elastomeric material in which a knitted fabric is embedded. The layer of elastomeric material is above and in contact with the thermoplastic material.
Abstract:
A transmission system is provided that has a drive pulley, at least one driven pulley and an oil wet toothed belt. The toothed belt includes a toothing and a back, a first portion, wherein the toothing is coupled to the drive pulley, a second portion wherein the toothing is coupled to at least one driven pulley, a first taut branch which develops towards the driving pulley and a second slack branch which develops towards the driven pulley. The transmission system also includes a fixed containment guide having at least a first wall facing the toothing and/or the back positioned at a distance from the toothed belt between a minimum distance where at rest it is not in contact with the toothed belt and a maximum distance equal to 5% of the length of one between the taut branch and the slack branch.
Abstract:
Accessory transmission for an engine of a motor vehicle has a first pulley adapted to be connected to a crankshaft of the engine, a second pulley adapted to be connected to a shaft of an electric machine through a one-way clutch, and a belt connecting the first and the second pulley to one another in order to rotate in one and the same rotation direction (R). The one-way clutch is configured so as to couple the second pulley to the shaft of the electric machine when the electric machine drives the second pulley in the rotation direction, and to decouple the second pulley from the shaft of the electric machine when the second pulley tends to overrun the electric machine in the rotation direction.
Abstract:
A filtering pulley has a hub configured to be fixed to a shaft for rotation thereabout, a crown mounted coaxial and rotationally free on the hub, and a plurality of elastic groups arranged circumferentially with respect to the hub and to the crown and interposed, each, between a pair of first elements integral with the hub and between a pair of second elements integral with the crown. The first elements have at least two spokes, carried by an actuator that is made of two portions that are selectively geared between them to selectively connect the crown to the hub.
Abstract:
A tensioner for a belt transmission of a motor vehicle engine has a fixed part configured to be constrained to the engine and provided with a pin defining a rotation axis (A), an arm having a hub portion hinged on the pin and rotatable about the axis (A) and an opposite portion rotatably supporting a pulley configured to cooperate with a transmission belt, a main spring interposed between the fixed part and the arm to exert a thrust on the arm such as to rotate the arm towards the belt, a roller bearing supporting the arm on the pin, and a pair of damping devices exerting on the arm opposite actions so as to minimize the load on the bearing.
Abstract:
A filtering pulley for an accessory transmission of an internal combustion engine that has a hub, a crown, a filtering unit or transmitting the torque interposed between the hub and the crown, a torsion spring, a carrier, and a torque limiting joint. The torque limiting joint is coupled to interface with one of the surfaces between the crown and has an open-loop strip spring. The torque limiting joint and is configured to slide with respect to said surface when the torque transmitted between the crown and the hub reaches a predetermined level.
Abstract:
A transmission belt has a body of a first elastomeric material, a plurality of cords, and a plurality of V-shaped ribs. The V-shaped ribs are arranged side by side and alternate with V-shaped grooves. The V-shaped ribs extend along the transversal axis of the belt. The belt has a first toothing and a second toothing formed by a plurality of teeth that extend obliquely to the transversal axis of the belt, thereby forming therewith respective helix (alpha, beta) angles different from 0°. Power transmission systems that include such a transmission belt are disclosed.
Abstract:
A powertrain has an internal combustion engine provided with an accessory transmission that includes a first pulley connected to a crankshaft of the engine, a second pulley connected to a shaft of an electric machine, and a belt connecting the first and the second pulleys to each other to rotate in the same direction of rotation (R). The electric machine is operated to supply an active torque to the second pulley during start-up of the internal combustion engine by means of a starter motor.
