摘要: Pursuant to some embodiments, methods, apparatus, systems, devices, and means for issuing a payment device from a remote dispensing device are provided which include receiving a request to purchase a payment device from the remote dispensing device, the request including a load amount. Device information is read from a pre-personalized payment device in the remote dispensing device, and a request is made to an issuer of the pre-personalized payment device, for personalization data to personalize the pre-personalized payment device. In some embodiments, the request is sent over a secure authenticated session established between a module of the dispensing device and the issuer. The personalization data is loaded in the pre-personalized payment device to create a personalized payment device, and the personalized payment device is dispensed for use by a consumer.

摘要: A facility for tracking the sharing of distinguished content is described. When a user seeks to access the distinguished content from a client computer system using a URL associated with the distinguished content, the facility determines whether a user identifier is represented in the URL. If a user identifier is represented in the URL that is different from a user identifier that is persistently stored by the client computer system, the facility determines that the distinguished content has been shared with a user identified by the user identifier that is persistently stored by the client computer system by a user identified by the identifier represented in the URL.

摘要: Particular embodiments of the inventive technology relate to ‘off-axis detector’ technology that employs a third detector 23 exhibiting a flow orthogonal axis 43 as defined by its EMR collection angle, where such axis is from 30 degrees to 60 degrees from an intended, flow orthogonal, cell cross section long axis alignment line 13, in addition to employing a fourth detector 24 exhibiting a flow orthogonal axis 44 as defined by its collection angle, where such axis is orthogonal to the flow orthogonal, third detector axis 43. Particular embodiments of the inventive technology relate to ‘axially spaced illumination’ technology featuring more than one cell illumination site, where, other than the most upflow illumination site (e.g., 121), all illumination site(s) are downflow of at least one other illumination site. Particular embodiments of the inventive technology may feature aspects of both technologies.

摘要: A device, system and method for the separation and collection of sperm cells into multiple subpopulations based upon sperm characteristics and for facilitating the collection of multiple subpopulations in limited space. The device can be a redirection device including one or more spaced apart tubes, where each tube has a tube inlet for collecting particles in a flow path, a tube outlet for dispensing the collected particles, and a tube body connecting the tube inlet to the tube outlet for redirecting the particles in the flow path. The device can further include a support for holding each tube in a spaced apart relationship and a securing element for securing the one or more spaced apart tubes to the support.

摘要: Systems, methods, and devices are provided to determine an accurate neutron-gamma density (NGD) measurement for a broad range of formations, including low-hydrogen-index or low-porosity formations and formations with heavy elements. For example, such an NGD measurement may be obtained by emitting neutrons into a formation such that some of the neutrons inelastically scatter off elements of the formation and generate inelastic gamma rays. The neutrons and inelastic gamma rays that return to the downhole tool may be detected. Some characteristics of certain formations are believed to affect the fast neutron transport of the formations. Thus, if a formation has one or more of such characteristics, a correction may be applied to the count rate of neutrons, the count rate of inelastic gamma rays, or the neutron transport correction function, upon which the neutron-gamma density (NGD) may be determined.

摘要: An apparatus and method is provided for optimizing LED driver efficiency. The present invention offers low cost solutions for powering LEDs while minimizing overall power dissipation in devices powered by a depletable power source. Low system cost is attained using a charge pump to increase LED drive voltage level and implementing combinations of drive techniques to overcome the inefficiency of the charge pump. A switch bypasses the charge pump when depletable power source output voltage is sufficient to directly drive an LED load. At certain output voltage levels, the switch can be opened causing the charge pump to boost drive voltage. The output voltage may also be PWM modulated to drive the LED load and, at some voltages, the depletable power source may drive the LED load directly. Efficiency levels of 90-97% are attainable.
