摘要: A method and system for using a single wireless network interface to selectively accept for further processing frames transmitted in a wireless data communications network. This allows a host system to emulate the operation of multiple, concurrently active stations in the wireless network. All wireless stations so emulated adhere to the requirements of applicable standard protocols; particularly, in the context of this innovation, with respect to contention for use of the communications medium and acceptance for further processing of frames transmitted on the medium to an emulated station from a communicating peer station. Each emulated station is assigned a unique address in accordance with the applicable standard protocol, which satisfies the characteristics of a programmable, masking address filter. The address filter allows the interface to accept frames addressed to a conforming emulated wireless station while ignoring other frames. This technique is useful in the creation of efficient systems which may thereby provide interface to the wireless medium concurrently on behalf of multiple emulated stations, giving the appearance from the network standpoint of multiple wireless stations which are all in fact operated within a single device.

摘要: A directional transition module for moving an article translating on a primary roller conveyor extending along a first axis to a secondary conveyor for translation along a second axis angularly disposed with respect to the first axis includes at least one flexible drive member supported by a chassis for cycling through a predetermined driver cycle having an upper cycle portion and a lower cycle portion. The upper cycle portion is such that, when the directional transition module is installed for use in conjunction with the primary roller conveyor, the drive member cycles between first and second rollers of the primary roller conveyor. The drive member includes first and second segments wherein the first segment has a profile sufficiently low such that, when the first segment cycles through the upper cycle portion, it does not extend above a plane defined by the tops of the first and second rollers. The second segment has a profile sufficiently high such that, when the second segment cycles through the upper cycle portion, at least one section of the second segment extends above the plane defined by the tops of the first and second rollers to engage and at least partially lift the article for directional transition.

摘要: A semiconductor structure which protects against damages to an integrated circuit caused by electrostatic discharge (ESD) at a power supply pin includes a channel stop field plate coupled between a power supply terminal associated with the power supply pin and contacts to N-type substrate or N-wells formed in the semiconductor structure receiving the power supply voltage. The field plate functions to inhibit surface leakage current and is also used to introduce a resistance between the power supply pin and connections to N-wells or the N-substrate, thereby providing protection to the wells or substrate against damages caused by an ESD event. By exploiting an existing structure used in typical integrated circuit for ESD protection, ESD immunity of a semiconductor device can be enhanced without consuming additional silicon area.

摘要: An improved process for production of diisopropyl ether by conversion of hydrocarbon feedstock containing propene, propane and C.sub.2 -- light gas components. The overall process steps include, (optionally) prefractionating fresh feedstock containing propene, propane and C.sub.2 -- light gas components to provide a reactor feedstream rich in propene; contacting the feedstock and water in a catalytic reactor with acidic catalyst under olefin hydration and etherification conditions; and recovering from the catalytic reactor a liquid reactor effluent stream containing diisopropyl ether, isopropanol, water, unreacted propene, propane, oligomer and C.sub.2 -- light gas components. DIPE product containing C.sub.6 + oligomer is recovered by separating the liquid effluent stream in a stripper column, and extracting the DIPE-rich liquid with water. An improved separation process is employed for removing water to provide DIPE liquid product substantially free of water.

摘要: A method of analyzing a spatial series of waveforms, each waveform of which contains components arising from at least two substantially uncorrelated features, includes the steps of sorting the waveforms into groups or bins according to values of one or more of the features, determining a mean waveform for each group or bin, subtracting the mean waveform from each waveform in the group or bin, returning the waveforms to the original order of the series and determining a remaining feature. Binning, the process of sorting waveforms into groups based on values of features, can be performed for one feature determined from the waveform or for several features. All that is required is that the binning criteria are substantially uncorrelated with the feature of interest. An example of a binning criterion can be frequency or period of a component of the waveform. Also a value of a physical parameter calculated from the waveform can be used as a binning criterion.

摘要: In order to independently influence the dewatering performance of a wet forming section of a paper machine as well as the quality of a web produced by the machine, a paper machine head box is mounted on a swiveling device adapted to move a nozzle of the head box around a periphery of a forming cylinder. Two continuous-loop forming wires wrap about the forming cylinder and pulp is discharged through the nozzle into a gap formed by the two wires. A method of operation of the wet forming section includes the step of swiveling both the head box nozzle and an inlet roll (upon which one of the wires is wrapped) around the forming cylinder in a circular arc.

摘要: A process for production of diisopropyl ether by conversion of hydrocarbon feedstock containing propene, propane and C.sub.2 - light gas components, including the steps of: optionally, prefractionating fresh feedstock containing propene, propane and C.sub.2 - light gas components to provide a reactor feedstream rich in propene; contacting the feedstock and water in a catalytic reactor with acidic catalyst under olefin hydration and etherification conditions; and recovering from the catalytic reactor a liquid reactor effluent stream containing diisopropyl ether, isopropanol, water, unreacted propene, propane and C.sub.2 - light gas components. Improved operation is achieved by separating the liquid effluent stream in a vertical stripper column; recovering an overhead vapor stream containing propene, propane and C.sub.2 - light gas components from the stripper column; cooling the overhead vapor stream to provide a reflux stream rich in condensed propene and propane; removing the C.sub.2 - light gas components from condensed; recycling the reflux stream to an upper contact portion of the stripper column; and recovering a predominantly C3 recycle stream from the upper contact portion of the stripper column. Optionally, the C3 recycle stream may be passed to the to the prefractioning step for propene enrichment with fresh feedstock.

摘要: A method for the determination and deconvolution of the signature of an unknown, non-impulsive source signal. The method supposes that that an array of receivers is positioned at the earth's surface to detect and record the seismic signals resulting from the interaction of the source with the earth's subsurface. The traces of data recorded are time-shifted by an amount determined by a coherency analysis of the data. The signal is estimated from the time-shifted data with a weighting factor applied at each trace. A deconvolution filter is determined from the estimate and is weighted at each frequency according to the strength of the source at that frequency. The filter is then applied to the time-shifted data.
