摘要: A mobile telephone 2 stores a telephone number and address for data communication of an emergency service in a storage unit, and has a function for acquiring position information showing its own position. If the mobile telephone 2 is outside the range of a 1× network 4 when a telephone number of another party is designated, the mobile telephone 2 checks whether or not the designated telephone number is a telephone number of an emergency service. When the designated telephone number is confirmed to be the telephone number of an emergency service, the mobile telephone 2 retrieves the address of the emergency service from the storage unit, and sends an emergency notification that includes the position information over the EVDO network 5 with the retrieved address as the destination. The emergency notification message reaches a server 3b of the emergency service via the EVDO network 5.

摘要: A light generating apparatus includes: a submount; a semiconductor laser chip mounted on the submount; a substrate which is mounted on the submount and includes an optical waveguide; and a substance having a predetermined thickness which is disposed between the semiconductor laser chip and the substrate. In an oscillation wavelength stabilizing apparatus for a light source, the light source is a semiconductor laser which includes: an active region for providing gain; and a distributed Bragg reflection (DBR) region for controlling an oscillation wavelength. The apparatus includes a control section which monotonously varies, in a first direction, a DBR current to be input to the DBR region while detecting the oscillation wavelength of an output light of the semiconductor laser so as to detect a DBR current value Io corresponding to a predetermined wavelength value, and then monotonously varies the DBR current in a second direction which is opposite the first direction beyond the detected value Io, and then monotonously varies the DBR current in the first direction again to set the DBR current at the detected value Io, thereby fixing the oscillation wavelength of the semiconductor laser chip at the predetermined wavelength value.

摘要: An object of this invention is to provide a method and a device for easily connecting and disconnecting a telephone communication line using an auditory organ instead of using a complex mechanism component. A distance between a speaker and the auditory organ of a telephone call receiver or a telephone call transmitter is detected using acoustic impedance and reflective wave properties of the auditory organ of the telephone call receiver or the telephone call transmitter to control call operations such as connection and/or disconnection of a communication line.

摘要: A pressurized fluidized bed combined electricity generation system for improving gas turbine output increases and prevention of surging is provided. This pressurized fluidized bed combined electricity generation system is a combined electricity generation system including a steam turbine; a pressurized fluidized bed boiler for generating steam for supply to the steam turbine by combusting air from an air supply system and fuel from a fuel supply system; a gas turbine driven by exhaust gas such as combustion gas from the pressurized fluidized bed boiler and the air; and a compressor directly coupled to the gas turbine. In addition, this pressurized fluidized bed combined electricity generation system has a first bypass duct communicating between the outlet side of the compressor and the exhaust gas side of the gas turbine and having a switching valve; a second bypass duct communicating between the outlet side of the compressor and the inlet side of the gas turbine and having a switching valve; and a control device which receives measured pressure values of a pressure detector which measures the pressure at the outlet of the compressor. This control device controls the switching valves of the first and second bypass ducts based on the relationship between the degree of opening of the inlet variable guide vane of the compressor which is determined in advance and a surge limiting pressure. A part of the steam generated by the pressurized fluidized bed boiler is extracted, mixed in with the exhaust gas or the above-mentioned air, and supplied to the gas turbine. Air from the compressor is supplied as fuel for the pressurized fluidized bed boiler.

摘要: A linearly polarized light beam emitted from a coherent light source reaches a polarizing phase plate and is thereby divided into a primary beam and a subsidiary beam having a polarized light component perpendicular to the polarized light component of the primary beam and a double-humped pattern, in which the center position coincides with the center position of the primary beam and the principal portion is equal in size to the principal portion of the primary beam. The primary beam and the subsidiary beam are focused onto an information storage surface of an optical disk and reflected therefrom, so that they are separated again through polarization separation and individually detected by first to third optical detectors. The output signals from the first to third optical detectors are calculated by a differential calculator and outputted therefrom.

摘要: In order to improve signal modulation characteristics and detect a position at a higher precision, collimated light of wavelength .lambda. and beam radius D enters a fixed diffraction plate and a movable diffraction plate comprising a grating of pitch "p". The grating has main diffraction components of orders .+-.1. The plates are arranged in parallel with a distance "g" between them and generally perpendicular to an optical axis of the beam. The beam diffracted by the diffraction plates and in parallel to the optical axis of the beam is condensed with a condenser lens for limiting an incident pupil size to be within D-2 g.lambda./p. The amount of the light condensed by the condenser lens is detected by a photosensor. In a different example, a collimated light beam enters a first fixed plate and a rotary diffraction plate successively to transmit diffracted light of orders .+-.1. Then, the transmitting light is guided to a symmetrical point with respect to a rotation center of the rotary plate. Then, the beam is transmitted through the rotary plate and a second fixed plate which transmits only diffracted light of orders .+-.1. Then the beam is detected by a sensor. Then, even if the rotary plate has an eccentricity on the rotation thereof, fluctuations of the optical intensity of the beam are small, and a rotation angle can be detected with no accumulated errors. In order to detect a position of a moving diffraction plate precisely, a condenser lens is attached to the moving diffraction plate and first and second photosensors are provided on a trace of light transmitted through the condenser lens. A gap between the tow photosensors is smaller than a beam size of the condensed beam while a width of each of the two photosensors is larger than the beam size. A signal processor processes output signals of the photosensors to determine a position of the plate without being affected by the amount of light from a coherent light source.
