摘要: The auto-correlation properties of a reference signal or pilot pattern, such as a position reference signal (PRS) in a Long Term Evolution communication system, is improved by modifying the currently specified PRS patterns, and/or by PRS pattern shaping. Pattern shaping can result in creation of virtual PRS patterns, for example, by controlling the PRS transmitted or received power used by the correlator. PRS power shaping can be implemented differently according to the location where the PRS power is calculated, e.g., in a network node or in a user equipment.

摘要: A wireless communication network determines positioning data for a given mobile terminal, in response to receiving a positioning event trigger for that mobile terminal. The network sends the positioning data to the mobile terminal via control-plane signaling, for transfer by the mobile terminal to the user plane. Correspondingly, the mobile terminal receives the positioning data over the control plane, transfers it to the user plane, and transmits the positioning data or location information derived from the positioning data, via user-plane signaling. As such, network-performed positioning measurements and/or geographic coordinate data derived therefrom are transferred from the control plane, to the user plane, for flexible and transparent transmission from the mobile terminal to a given node having a user-plane connection with the mobile terminal. Such a node may be essentially any type of communication device, system, or server, internal or external to the network.

摘要: In a communication system using HARQ, the problem of false ACK detection when no ACK/NACK feedback is transmitted is solved sent by varying the reliability of the scheduling information transmitted to the user terminal on a downlink control channel depending on whether the user terminal is expected to use a first or second uplink channel for sending ACK/NACK feedback. When the user terminal is expected to use the first channel to send ACK/NACK feedback, the base station transmits scheduling information to the user terminal with normal reliability. When the user terminal is expected to send ACK/NACK feedback on the second uplink channel, the base station transmits the signaling information to the user terminal with enhanced reliability. The reliability of the signaling information can be increased, for example, by increasing the transmit power on the downlink control channel, increasing the aggregation level, or a combination thereof.

摘要: Embodiments herein relate to a method in a user equipment for handling control information in a radio communications network. The user equipment is served in a cell controlled by a radio network node and is of a second type of user equipments. The user equipment monitors a search space for control information of a physical data control channel, PDCCH, which search space is associated with the second type of user equipments. The PDCCH comprises at least one control channel element that comprises resource elements at least partly comprised in a second region of resource elements. The resource elements of the second region are only allowed to be scheduled for control information to user equipments of the second type. The at least one CCE is defined in relation to a CCE of a first region of resource elements, which resource elements of the first region are allowed to be scheduled for control information to user equipments of a first type. The user equipment detects control information within the monitored search space, and uses the detected control information for communicating with the radio network node.

摘要: A terminal is configured to receive data packets from a base station and provide feedback to the base station. The feedback concerns the reception status of the received data packets and may comprise an ACK/NAK. A method in the terminal comprises receiving and decoding data packets from the base station in a subframe. It is further established whether any data packet within the received subframe is not correctly received and detected whether any subframe, expected to be received, has been missed. Further, acknowledgement information ACK/NAK is generated, and a scrambling code is selected with which the ACK/NAK is scrambled. The scrambled ACK/NAK is then sent to the base station, concerning the reception status of the data packets within the received subframes.

摘要: A method in a user equipment device for estimating a channel upon receiving an enhanced control channel (eCCH) from a network node in a telecommunications system includes distributing the eCCH over multiple resource pairs, where each of the multiple resource block pairs includes a number of resources. Each of the resources is associated with a respective antenna port. The user equipment device identifies an antenna port that is associated with multiple ones of the resources. The multiple ones of the resources are present in different resource block pairs of the multiple resource block pairs over which the eCCH is distributed. Identifying the antenna port is based on how the eCCH is mapped to the multiple resource block pairs. The user equipment device estimates the downlink channel for the eCCH based on the identified antenna port in the multiple ones of the resources in the multiple resource block pairs.

摘要: Techniques provide additional Hybrid-ARQ indication resources for LTE TDD subframes that are normally without conventional LTE PHICH resources or that have too few LTE PHICH resources. In some embodiments, a modified PHICH is created using unused REGs in the control region of the downlink subframe. In others, a modified PHICH resides within the resources of an AL=1 PDCCH, and is formed using encoding and modulation processes that differ from normal PDCCH processing. In other embodiments, the PUSCH HARQ feedback bits are carried by a conventional LTE PDCCH, which is distinguished from other PDCCHs by scrambling it with a new type of RNTI: HARQ indicator Radio-network temporary identifier (HI-RNTI). In still other embodiments, the modulation symbols of PHICH are then placed on top of those normally reserved for PDCCHs. For such overlapped radio resources, the modulation symbols from the modified PHICH will replace those from normal PDCCHs for transmission.
