摘要: The present invention relates to cure accelerators useful for anaerobic curable compositions, such as adhesives and sealants. The cure accelerators are constructed as urethane/urea/thiourethane (meth)acrylate resins from diols and include a unit embraced within structure A where X is C1-20 alkyl, C2-20 alkenyl, or C7-20 alkaryl, any of which may be interrupted by one or more hereto atoms, and which are functionalized by at least one and preferably at least two groups selected from —OH, —NH2 or —SH and z is 1-3.

摘要: A fuel cell, having improved sealing against leakage, includes a fuel cell component having a cured sealant, wherein the cured sealant includes a telechelic-functional polyisobutylene, an organhydrogenosilane crosslinker, a platinum catalyst and a photoinitiator. The fuel cell component may be a cathode flow field plate, an anode flow field plate, a resin frame, a gas diffusion layer, an anode catalyst layer, a cathode catalyst layer, a membrane electrolyte, a membrane-electrode-assembly frame, and combinations thereof. A method for forming such a fuel cell includes the steps of providing a fuel cell component including a substrate; providing a mold having a cavity; positioning the mold so that the cavity is in fluid communication with the substrate; applying a curable liquid sealant composition into the cavity, wherein the curable sealant composition includes a telechelic-functional polyisobutylene, an organhydrogenosilane crosslinker, a platinum catalyst and a photoinitiator; and curing the composition with actinic radiation.

摘要: A method of forming liquid crystal alignment layers of high tilt angle, said method comprising preparing a polymeric film of a monomer of the formula IV: ##STR1## wherein X and Y are strong electron withdrawing groups, optionally substituted with or containing Si or Ti, and A is --H or --CH.dbd.CH.sub.2 or, provided that X and Y are both --CN, A may be --R.sup.2 or --CH.dbd.CHR.sup.2 wherein R.sup.2 is hydrocarbyl, aryl or alkaryl; exposing said polymeric film to ultraviolet radiation for sufficient period of time to photochemically modify the polymer and, thereafter, subjecting the modified polymer to a heat treatment in the range of 100.degree.-400.degree. C. for at least 5 seconds.

摘要: Polyorganosiloxane photoinitiators containing aryoyl formate photomoieties bonded to silicon atoms via non-hydrolyzable Si-C bonds. They may be prepared from alkenyl or alkynyl aryoyl formates and polyorganosiloxanes containing silicon hydride groups via hydrosilation. They are effective photoinitiators for photocurable silicone resins and for ethylenically unsaturated monomers, producing cured films with good weatherability and low temperature flexibility.
