    摘要: Benzoxazole derivatives represented by general formula (I) which are intermediates for synthesis of o-sulfonamidophenol derivatives useful as dye releasing redox compounds in a color diffusion transfer color image forming process: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2, which may be the same as or different from each other, each represents an alkyl group or an aryl group or they may combine and form a ring; R.sup.3 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group; R.sup.4 represents an alkyl group or an aryl group; R.sup.5 represents an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an alkylthio group, an arylthio group, a halogen atom or an acylamino group, or --CR.sup.1 R.sup.2 R.sup.3 and R.sup.5 may combine and form the nucleus ##STR2## which is condensed at the 6- and the 7-positions of the benzoxazole nucleus; and n is 0, 1 or 2.

    摘要: The invention provides an oxo-titanylphthalocyanine crystal which is stable, is superior in dispersibility in a photoreceptive layer and efficiently contributes to improvements in sensitivity and charge retention rate of an electrophotographic photoreceptor when it is used as a charge generating agent, a method for producing the oxo-titanylphthalocyanine crystal, and an electrophotographic photoreceptor. The oxo-titanylphthalocyanine crystal has predetermined optical characteristics and thermal properties and is produced by a production method including the following steps (a) to (d): (a) a step of dissolving a crude oxo-titanylphthalocyanine crystal in an acid to obtain an oxo-titanylphthalocyanine solution; (b) a step of adding the oxo-titanylphthalocyanine solution dropwise in a poor solvent to obtain a wet cake; (c) a step of washing the wet cake with an alcohol having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; and (d) a step of stirring the washed wet cake under heating in a nonaqueous solvent to obtain an oxo-titanylphthalocyanine crystal.

An electrophotographic photoconductor comprising a base body, and an intermediate layer containing a titanium oxide and a binding resin and a photosensitive layer which are arranged on the base body, and an image forming apparatus using the same, wherein an average primary particle diameter of the titanium oxide is set to a value within the range of 5 to 30 nm, a thickness of the intermediate layer set to a value within the range of 0.5 to 3 μm, and the volume resistivity in the intermediate layer is set to a value within the range of 1×1010 to 5×1013 Ω·cm.

    摘要: A recording medium comprises a substrate and a recording layer overlaid on the substrate. The recording layer comprises a material, which has properties such that, when recording light having a predetermined wavelength λ1 is irradiated to the material, the material is capable of being caused to change into a fluorescent material and such that, when excitation light having a wavelength λ2 is then irradiated to the thus formed fluorescent material, the fluorescent material is capable of being caused to produce fluorescence. The wavelength λ1 of the recording light and the wavelength λ2 of the excitation light may be identical or different. The substrate may be constituted of a material having properties such that, when the excitation light is irradiated to the material, the material does not produce fluorescence having a wavelength identical with the wavelength of the fluorescence produced by the fluorescent material.
