摘要: The present invention relates to a novel class of hydroxamic acid derivatives having at least two aryl containing groups, at least one of which is a quinolinyl, isoquinolinyl or benzyl moiety, linked to the hydroxamic acid group through a methylene chain. The hydroxamic acid compounds can be used to treat cancer, for example, brain cancer. The hydroxamic acid compounds can also inhibit histone deacetylase and are suitable for use in selectively inducing terminal differentiation, and arresting cell growth and/or apoptosis of neoplastic cells, thereby inhibiting proliferation of such cells. Thus, the compounds of the present are useful in treating a patient having a tumor characterized by proliferation of neoplastic cells. The compounds of the invention are also useful in the prevention and treatment of TRX-mediated diseases, such as autoimmune, allergic and inflammatory diseases, and in the prevention and/or treatment of diseases of the central nervous system (CNS), such as neurodegenerative diseases.

摘要: A method for mobile-device directed conference calling comprises receiving information from a subscriber of a mobile-communication service, communicating an access number and providing executable instructions to the mobile-communication device that expose a conference service to the subscriber, wherein when the subscriber selects an option from the mobile-communication device, the mobile-communication device initiates a call to a conference service that uses automatic number identification to authenticate the subscriber and connect the call with a teleconference bridge. A system comprises a processor, interfaces in communication with the public telephone network and a data network, respectively, and a memory. The system receives information from a subscriber of a mobile-communication service, communicates an access number to the subscriber and configures the mobile-communication device to expose a conference service to the subscriber. When the subscriber selects an option, the subscriber is authenticated and connected to a teleconference bridge.

摘要: A hand-held portable drop-light is provided. The light comprises a handle, a housing, a cover, a novel mounting assembly, and a light bulb. The mounting assembly is configured with a pivoting light bulb socket and positioned within the handle for mounting the light bulb within a housing interior. The housing possesses an aperture through which the container interior and light bulb may be accessed. The cover is reversibly attached to the housing so as to inhibit access to the light bulb through the aperture. When replacing the light bulb, the cover is moved from the aperture and the mounting assembly is pivoted between a retracted position, where the bulb is substantially retained within the housing and an extended position, where a portion of the bulb is positioned outside the housing. In this manner, the light bulb is easily accessed for replacement.

摘要: The present invention includes a method for treating an individual suffering from decompression sickness, a gas mixture that can be used to treat the individual, and an apparatus that can be used to administer the gas mixture. The method includes administering a gas mixture of oxygen and a therapeutically effective amount of nitric oxide gas to the individual. The gas mixture can include a mixture of oxygen, helium and, nitric oxide gases. The gas mixture can be administered using an apparatus that can be worn by the individual. The apparatus includes dispensers for gases, a gas blender to mix the gases, an inspiratory passage, a face mask substantially conformable with the individual's face, and an expiratory passage. When the individual wearing the face mask inhales, the gas mixture travels from the gas blender, through the inspiratory passage to the face mask. The gas mixture is then inhaled by the individual. When the individual exhales a breath, the breath travels from the face mask through the expiratory passage.

摘要: A coaxial cable connector includes tubular post, a coupler secured over an end of the tubular post for securing the connector to an appliance, and an outer body secured to the tubular post. An electrical grounding path is maintained between the coupler and the tubular post whether or not the coupler is tightly fastened to the appliance. The electrical grounding path is provided by a resilient, electrically-conductive grounding member disposed between the tubular post and the coupler. Alternatively, the connector includes conductive grease at a point where mating portions of the tubular post and coupler have closely matching dimensions.

摘要: A tire pressure monitoring system (12) for a vehicle (10) includes a vehicle speed sensor (38, 98) that is used to generate a vehicle speed signal. A receiver (28) operates using a first protocol when the vehicle speed signal is below a first speed threshold and operates using a second protocol when the vehicle speed is above the speed threshold. A remote keyless entry system (23) is coupled to the receiver and operates when the vehicle speed is below a speed threshold. The remote keyless entry system (23) receives signals from a keyless entry transmitter (60) using the first protocol. A tire pressure monitoring system (12) has a pressure transmitter (16A-16E) that generates a signal using a first protocol and a second protocol when the speed signal is below the speed threshold and generating the signal using only the second protocol when the speed signal is above the speed threshold.
