摘要： The invention provides an optical burst switch in an Optical Burst Switched (OBS) communication network, said optical burst switch comprising means for monitoring and maintaining mesh of virtual optical paths from a communication node to a plurality of other communication nodes, arranged in a ring network, enabling traffic data to be transmitted and/or received between nodes via a physical optical path. The switch also provides means for sending a data packet probe on a virtual path from a node to each other node in the OBS communication network, wherein data packet probe information received at said switch provides information of availability of the physical optical path for sending traffic data between nodes. The switch can be configured such that the rate at which this path monitoring is scheduled guaranteeing less than 50ms protection switch in the event of monitoring a failed or degraded path.

摘要： A method and system for detecting change to a record in a file stored on an electronic token involves storing a change detection code (CDC) so that a change detection applet can calculate a current CDC for corresponding record(s), and compare the current CDC with the stored CDC to determine if data has changed. Any changes to records are registered by a registering element that provides a service feature, back-up of the file and/or synchronizes the file with other files stored remotely. One use of the method is to back-up phonebook records on USIM/SIM cards.

摘要： The invention relates to a method and system for providing a set of continuous tuning regions from a discontinuously tuned laser, by providing a wavelength reference having at least first and second resonance peaks, sweeping the laser across a pre-determined wavelength range of the wavelength reference, and defining, within the laser sweep, one or more regions of continuous tuning operation of the laser, each of the regions corresponding to a response of the laser between adjacent resonance peaks of the wavelength reference. The advantage of the invention is that it provides a way for stitching together continuous regions of a multi-section tunable laser in an efficient and accurate manner.

摘要： A physiological status monitoring system includes a shirt and a stretchable circumferential band attached to the shirt. The stretchable band includes a respiration detector subsystem and signal transmission conductors. One or more sensors on the band are electrically connected to a signal transmission conductor. At least one sensor has an exposed electrode inside the shirt. The system includes a cover over the band and/or the one or more sensors. A connection subsystem on the band is electrically connected to the respiration detector subsystem and the signal transmission conductors and includes signal traces therefrom to a first connector accessible from outside the shirt. An electronics module is releasably attached to the shirt and includes a second connector which mates with the first connector. The electronics module includes a processing system and a transmitter. The remote display unit includes a receiver, a display, and a processing system.

摘要： The present invention relates to a sound rated floor system for inhibiting sound transmission between floors. The system includes a corrugated steel deck; a first layer of cementitious material or board or sheet applied over the corrugated steel deck; a sound insulation mat or board applied over the first layer; a second layer of cementitious material applied over the sound insulation mat or board. The floor system has an IIC rating of at least 25 and the corrugated steel deck provides at least 50 percent of the ultimate load carrying capacity under static and impact loading of the floor system with a floor deflection of at most 1/360 of the floor span.

An interferometer is configured to provide a reference reflection of a reference point and a measurement reflection of a measurement point. A tunable laser is used to scan in wavelength into the interferometer to detect interferometer characteristics to measure the distance between the reference point and the measurement point from the interferometer characteristics. The invention describes a displacement measuring interferometer which uses a scanning tunable laser to accurately map out a fringe such that significant improvement in accuracy can be achieved by use of a tunable laser to scan the wavelengths and determine the fringe.

In order that the standing waves set up between the partial reflecting locations (20) and the first mirror facet (8) are harmonics of the predetermined single wavelength, the refractive index altering grooves (21) are located along the ridge (14) for forming the reflecting locations (20) at distances from the first mirror facet (8) which correspond to the effective length of the optical path (15) resulting from the affect of the inclusion of the reflecting locations (20) rather than at locations corresponding to the actual length of the light path (15).

摘要： A coating for preparing a floor underlayment to receive an adhesive, where the coating includes a water-soluble, latex polymer, a defoamer and a dual-function surface enhancing agent. The surface enhancing agent includes a set accelerator that also functions to cross link the adhesive, hardening the surface of the underlayment using at least two mechanisms. One embodiment of the invention is a dry mixture that forms a coating when added to water. The dry mixture includes from about 10% to about 50% of the redispersible polymer on a dry weight basis, from about 50% to about 90% of the surface enhancing agent and from about 0.15% to about 0.25% of the defoamer on a dry weight basis. Other embodiments describe a liquid coating formed by adding from about 1 to about 8 parts water to 1 part of the dry mixture on a volume basis.
