摘要: The invention provides an optical burst switch in an Optical Burst Switched (OBS) communication network, said optical burst switch comprising means for monitoring and maintaining mesh of virtual optical paths from a communication node to a plurality of other communication nodes, arranged in a ring network, enabling traffic data to be transmitted and/or received between nodes via a physical optical path. The switch also provides means for sending a data packet probe on a virtual path from a node to each other node in the OBS communication network, wherein data packet probe information received at said switch provides information of availability of the physical optical path for sending traffic data between nodes. The switch can be configured such that the rate at which this path monitoring is scheduled guaranteeing less than 50ms protection switch in the event of monitoring a failed or degraded path.

摘要: A coating for preparing a floor underlayment to receive an adhesive includes a water-soluble, latex polymer, a defoamer and a dual-function surface enhancing agent. The surface enhancing agent includes a set accelerator that also functions to cross link the adhesive, hardening the surface of the underlayment using at least two mechanisms. One embodiment of the invention is a dry mixture that forms a coating when added to water. The dry mixture includes from about 10% to about 50% of the redispersible polymer by weight based on the mixture, from about 50% to about 90% of the surface enhancing agent and from about 0.15% to about 0.25% of the defoamer by weight based on the mixture. Other embodiments describe a liquid coating formed by adding from about 1 to about 8 parts water to 1 part of the dry mixture by volume based on the mixture.

摘要: Planarization methods for maintaining planar surfaces in the fabrication of such devices as BAW devices and capacitors on a planar or planarized substrate are described. In accordance with the method, a metal layer is deposited and patterned, and an oxide layer is deposited using a high density plasma chemical vapor deposition (HDP CVD) process to a thickness equal to the thickness of the metal layer. The HDP CVD process provides an oxide layer on the patterned metal tapering upward from the edge of the patterned metal layer. Then, after masking and etching the oxide layer from the patterned metal layer, the patterned metal layer and surrounding oxide layer form a substantially planar layer, interrupted by small remaining oxide protrusions at the edges of the patterned layer. These small remaining oxide protrusions may be too small to significantly disturb the flatness of a further oxide or other layer or they may be further mitigated by the application of another HDP CVD oxide film.

摘要: An ergonomic stringed instrument is described, presenting a novel ergonomic design incorporating one or more of an angled waist, provided as part of the waist portion of the stringed instrument bowl or body, and a contoured ridge, provided along at least a portion of the back of the stringed instrument bowl or body. The angled waist is provided on the treble side of the stringed instrument, which side may rest on the leg of a performer, and is configured with an angled contour towards the back of the stringed instrument. The contoured ridge runs along at least a portion of the bass side of the stringed instrument back and defines at least a slightly concave portion on the treble side of the contoured ridge.
