    摘要: A privacy filter (20) for a display device includes at least two spaced-apart, generally parallel grids (22 and 24). Each grid includes an array of strips (26 and 30) or blocking members having transparent space (28 and 32) therebetween. The strips or blocking members are formed aligned such that an image (37) displayed on the display device may be viewed through the filter at an angle of incidence within a predetermined range of angles but is not discernable at angles outside of the predetermined range.

    摘要: A multilayer antireflection coating for a liquid cell three high refractive index layers and two low refractive index layers arranged alternatively with high refractive index layers outermost. The innermost high refractive index layer is formed from an electrically-conductive metal oxide material and may have an optical thickness between about one-tenth and three wavelengths of visible light. Thickness of each layer may be adjusted to provide lowest reflectivity. Alternatively layer thickness may be arranged such that if three layers of the coating are etched away to define an electrode coating, spectral response of the remaining two layers is the same as the original five layers.

    摘要: A multi-laser module includes two compartments arranged one above the other. The lower compartment includes four lasers and four corresponding beam-steering mirrors arranged to direct corresponding laser beams into the upper compartment. The upper compartment includes a regular pentagonal prism and four other beam-steering mirrors each arranged to receive one of the laser beams and direct that beam to the prism. The beam prism has three dichroic-coated surfaces and two antireflection-coated surfaces. Each of three of the beams enter the prism via a corresponding one of the dichroic-coated surfaces. The fourth beam enters the prism via one of the antireflection coated surfaces, and all of the beams exit the prism via the other antireflection coated surface along a common path.

    摘要: A directly cooled diode-laser bar package includes a diode-laser bar bonded to a heat-sink. The operating temperature of the diode-laser bar can be selectively varied by varying the thermal impedance of the heat-sink in or near a region of the heat-sink on which the diode-laser bar is bonded. The thermal impedance is selectively varied by varying the insertion depth of screws inserted into corresponding screw holes extending into the heat-sink close to or immediately adjacent the region on which the diode-laser bar is bonded.

    摘要: An optically pumped semiconductor pumped optical parametric oscillator (OPS-pumped OPO) includes an OPS laser resonator and an OPO resonator A portion the OPS laser resonator axis and the OPO resonator axis are collinear. An optically nonlinear crystal is located in the coaxial portion of the resonators and arranged to frequency divide fundamental radiation generated in the OPS laser resonator into signal and idler radiations. In one arrangement, the OPO laser resonator is also an OPS resonator and is arranged to generate radiation at the wavelength of the signal radiation, with the idler radiation having the difference-frequency wavelength of the signal and fundamental radiations.
