摘要: A safety shut-off system and method for eliminating power to a load in the event of smoke detection. The system may comprise a device located at the appliance for detecting a signal from a smoke detector, and cutting power to the appliance only when the appliance is in use. The device may be synchronized with any standard smoke alarm signal to reduce the number of false positive shut-offs. The system may also comprise a smoke alarm hard-wired to a circuit breaker, for shutting off power to all appliances on a particular breaker upon receipt of a signal from the smoke alarm, and only when the appliances on the breaker are in use. The system may also have the ability to shut off one breaker, multiple breakers, or all breakers at different time increments to actively prevent and reduce the damages caused by fires.

摘要: Systems and methods for extending the range of a fiber optic DTS system are provided. In one respect, a method may provide steps for transmitting, in a first time period, an optical signal at a first energy level through an optical fiber, collecting backscatter signals as a result of the first transmission, adjusting the first energy level to a second energy level, transmitting, in an additional time period, the adjusted optical signal through the optical fiber, collecting backscatter signals as a result of the adjusted transmissions, and using a portion of the collected backscatter as a result of the first transmission and a portion of the collected backscatter as a result of the additional transmissions, determining one or more parameter profiles, such as a temperature profile.

摘要: In one general aspect, a method is described. The method includes generating a positional relationship between one or more support structures having at least one motion capture mark and at least one virtual structure corresponding to geometry of an object to be tracked and positioning the support structures on the object to be tracked. The support structures has sufficient rigidity that, if there are multiple marks, the marks on each support structure maintain substantially fixed distances from each other in response to movement by the object. The method also includes determining an effective quantity of ray traces between one or more camera views and one or more marks on the support structures, and estimating an orientation of the virtual structure by aligning the determined effective quantity of ray traces with a known configuration of marks on the support structures.

摘要: An automatic auto-correcting method is presented to improve the accuracy of fiber optic distributed temperature measurements derived from Raman back scatterings utilizing two light sources with different wavelengths, by appropriate choice of the wavelengths of the two sources, the use of single pulse modulating circuit for the two light sources, and use of one of the light sources as a primary measurement system and the second light source as an occasional correcting source.

摘要: The invention relates to a throttle plate port whose pivot axis is disposed so as to be axially offset with respect to the throttle plate and whose radial peripheral surface is shaped, at least by sections, in the form of spherical sectors, where in the position which closes the bore the peripheral surface of the throttle plate abuts, in the form of a line, the seat face of the housing. Through this type of eccentric disposition and simultaneous realization of the peripheral surface, the housing can be realized without undercuts and nonetheless precise dosing can be achieved in the case of small pivot angles.

摘要: Systems and methods for calibrating a temperature sensing system are disclosed. In one respect, a dual light source configuration may be provided. A first light source may illuminate a sensing fiber and an anti-Stokes band may be detected. A second light source may illuminate a sensing fiber and a Stokes band may be detected, where the Stokes band is substantially similar to the anti-Stokes band of the first light source. A ratio between the anti-Stokes and Stokes band may be used to calibrate a temperature sensing system.

摘要: A method of managing cells formed from a tuple of members in a multidimensional database include treating at least one dimension in the database as a plurality of hierarchically structured members divided into at least two levels, thereby defining a validation curve as the location of an intersection of the levels. What level the cells in the database are located is evaluated. Cells contained in a lower level are managed by automatically indicating them as one of valid and invalid at data load time, and cells contained in an upper level are managed by indicating them as one of valid and invalid according to a method involving at least one of less reading from and writing to the database at data load time than if all the cells in the upper level were indicated as one of valid and invalid at data load time. A computerized database management system uses a communication interface to practice the method.
