A congestion control system appropriately controls congestion of cells independently of the configuration of source and destination terminal units in, for example, an ATM switching unit, and shortens the time taken from the generation of congestion to the start of control. A buffer for switching the cells in a switch device adds to the cells transmitted through the switch device an EFCI for use in notifying the destination terminal unit of the congestion state of the cells. An output line device detects together with a VPI/VCI the EFCI added to the cell to be output from the switch device to the destination terminal unit. The output line device transmits to the switch device the VPI/VCI corresponding to the detected EFCI and an RM cell in which backward congestion indication is set.

Disclosed is a single plate projection type display apparatus which is capable of achieving a high luminance without an increase in an output of a light source. A first lens plate having a plurality of lenses divides a light from a light source into a plurality of light beams. A second lens plate having a plurality of lenses superposes the divided plurality of light beams on a light valve, thereby performing an illumination. A color separation optical system composed of dichroic mirrors which are perpendicular to an XY plane and form predetermined angles to each other, performs a color separation for the light beams from the second lens plate. The light valve modulates R, G and B light beams which are incident thereonto. The modulated lights are projected by a projection lens. The whole shape of the second lens plate is a rectangle. The second lens plate is disposed so that a longitudinal direction of the longer side of the whole shape of the rectangle is perpendicular to a plane formed by a normal line to the dichroic mirrors and an optical axis immediately before an incidence onto the dichroic mirrors.

This display device can be applied to a projection type display device by adding a projecting section which projects the light beams emerging from the display panel upon a screen or a pupil.

In a wire-cut EDM apparatus for cutting a workpiece (2) submerged in a processing tank (3) filled with a machining fluid (15), an opening (24) is made in the side wall of the tank through which an arm unit passes. A slide plate (14) also has an opening for passage of the arm unit and also provents leakage from the space between the opening 24 and the arm unit. In one preferred embodiment a fluid flow between the slide plate and arm unit is used to prevent fluid in the tank from escaping through the space between the slide plate (14) and the arm unit. Alternatively, a low frictional member may be placed between the arm unit and the slide plate for axially sealing the arm unit. Frictional resistance from movement of the lower arm unit is reduced and machining accuracy improved.

Disclosed is a method of forming an electrically conductive circuit comprising the steps of: preparing a transferring paper in which an assembly of electrically conductive foil carrying a predetermined pattern and an insulating layer containing glass frit and an overcoat layer consisting of a resin film having good burning property are provided on a transferring paper covered with a paste layer; removing an integral structure of the conductive foil, the insulating layer, and the overcoat layer from the transferring paper; transferring the removed integral structure onto a substrate; and burning the substrate with the integral structure set thereon at a temperature where the glass is soften. According to this method, it is possible to eliminate transformation or damage of a conductive foil where a conductive foil is singly disposed on a substrate.
