    摘要: A wheel bearing apparatus incorporating a rotation speed detecting apparatus has an outer member, an inner member, double row rolling elements, a pulser ring, a cup-shaped sensor cap and a rotation speed sensor. The sensor cap is press-formed from anti-corrosion steel sheet into a cup-shaped configuration with a cylindrical fitting portion, to be press-fit into the end of the outer member, and a bottom portion, extending radially inward from the fitting portion to cover the inner-side end of the inner member. The rotation speed sensor is oppositely arranged so that it abuts or is positioned in close proximity to the bottom portion and accordingly the pulser ring. The rotation speed sensor and pulser ring oppose one another a predetermined axial air gap via the bottom portion. An elastic member is pressed and elastically deformed between the fitting portion of the sensor cap and the end of the outer member.

    摘要: A vehicle wheel bearing apparatus has an outer member and an inner member. The inner member has a wheel hub and at least one inner ring fit onto a cylindrical portion of the wheel hub or an outer raceway surface of a constant velocity universal joint. Double row rolling element groups are freely rollably contained between said inner and outer raceway surfaces of the inner member and the outer member. A pitch circle diameter of the ball element group near to the wheel mounting flange is larger than that of the double row ball group away from the wheel mounting flange. A maximum diameter of the outer raceway surface of the smaller diameter side of the double row outer raceway surfaces of the outer member is substantially the same as an inner diameter of a shoulder portion of the outer diameter side. The size of each rolling element of the group near to the wheel mounting flange is different from that of each rolling element of the group away from the wheel mounting flange. The number of rolling elements of the group near to the wheel mounting flange is larger than the number of rolling elements of the group away from the wheel mounting flange.

    摘要: A vehicle wheel bearing apparatus has an outer member with a body flange and double row outer raceway surfaces. An inner member includes a wheel hub and an inner ring. They include inner raceway surfaces arranged opposite to the double row outer raceway surfaces. Double row rolling elements are freely rollably contained between the outer and inner raceway surfaces. Outer side rolling elements of the double row rolling elements are balls and inner side rolling elements of the double row rolling elements are tapered rollers. A pitch circle diameter of the inner side tapered rollers is set smaller than that of the outer side balls. A substantially conical recess is formed at an outer side end portion of the wheel hub. The depth of the recess extends to at least near the bottom of the inner raceway surface of the wheel hub. The thickness of a portion of the wheel hub where the inner raceway surface is formed is set within a predetermined range. The outer side wall of the wheel hub has a constant thickness substantially along the inner surface of the recess.

The counter portion is formed by a cylindrical portion that axially extends from each inner raceway surface. A tapered portion converges toward the end face of each inner member. Transitions between the counter portion and the inner raceway surface as well as between the cylindrical portion and the tapered portion are rounded and smoothly continuous.

The wheel support bearing assembly includes outer and inner members and inboard and outboard rows of rolling elements interposed between outboard and inboard raceways defined in the outer and inner members confronting each other. The inner member includes a hub axle having a wheel fitting flange on an outboard side thereof, and an inner race member mounted on an inboard end thereof. The hub axle has an outer diameter measured at a point intermediate between the inboard and outboard rows of rolling elements that is greater than the minimum diameter of the raceway on the inboard side. A pitch circle diameter of the outboard row of rolling elements is greater than the pitch circle diameter of the inboard row of rolling elements.
