    摘要: A train control system that does not allow running by erroneously receiving a signal of a further preceding train toward the front, nor permits a following train approaching another train beyond an allowable range. The system includes an existing signal system controlling running of a preceding train and a following train based on transmission signals from existing signal transmission devices, an inter-train communications system controlling running of the following train by an inter-train communications transmission signal received from the preceding train, and a train-ID transmission/reception system that detects, using a ground-based train-ID transmission/reception device, passing of the preceding train and also acquires train information of the preceding train, and that then detects passing of the following train and also transmits the train information to the following train, thereby controlling the running of the following train utilizing either one of the existing signal system and the inter-train communications system by changing over therebetween based on the train information.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a start-up control apparatus for an internal combustion engine that can further improve the start-up characteristics of an internal combustion engine. An ECU is provided that corrects a position at which the crankshaft stops or a position at which the crankshaft is predicted to stop based on a rotation state of the crankshaft immediately before stopping; switches an actuation timing of the fuel injection valve of the stopped intake-stroke cylinder, which is predicted to be in a intake stroke based on a position at which the crankshaft stops, based on the position at which the crankshaft is predicted to stop; during engine start-up, switches an ignition timing that actuates the spark plugs based on the position at which the crankshaft stops; predicts the amount of air that is drawn into a cylinder during a predetermined interval after engine start-up, based on the engine speed, the position at which the crankshaft stops, volume in a intake passage, and the number of times that the intake stroke has been carried out; and calculates the fuel injection amount for the cylinder based on the predicted amount of air.

    摘要: There is provided a method of authenticating a portable data-communication terminal user in a system comprising a portable data-communication terminal and a device for authenticating a user both including a transceiver for making radio-communication to each other, the method including the steps of (a) transmitting and receiving user-authentication data between the portable data-communication terminal and the user-authenticating device to thereby carry out check as to whether the portable data-communication terminal is far away from the user-authenticating device by a distance equal to or smaller than a first distance within which the transceiver can make radio-communication between the portable data-communication terminal and the user-authenticating device, and (b) allowing the portable data-communication terminal to carry out a predetermined operation only when the portable data-communication terminal is authenticated to be located within the first distance from the user-authenticating device. In accordance with the method, only when an authorized user having both the portable data-communication terminal and the user-authenticating device uses the portable data-communication terminal, the portable data-communication terminal is allowed to carry out a certain operation. Hence, it is possible to prevent a third party from using the portable data-communication terminal without permission of the user.
