摘要: A moving picture encoding apparatus in which a minimum picture quality may be maintained even though the bitrate of an output encoded datastream is changed. A real-time distribution system for moving pictures 1 includes a frame rate conversion unit 11 for controlling the frame rate of input moving picture data, an encoding unit 12 for encoding moving picture data, having a controlled frame rate, in accordance with the MPEG-4, a frame rate calculating unit 16 for calculating a setting value of the frame rate, a transmission unit 13 for transmitting/receiving data over a network, and a receiving unit 14. The receiving unit 14 detects the state of communication on the network and, based on the detected state of communication on the network, calculates a target bitrate. The encoding unit 12 controls the bitrate of the MPEG-4 datastream responsive to this target bitrate. The frame rate calculating unit 16 estimates the picture quality based on the quantization scale of the encoding unit 12 and, in case of deterioration of the picture quality to more than a preset level, lowers the frame rate.

摘要: A method of analyzing vibration in a longitudinal direction of a transmission belt that is trained around at least a drive pulley and a driven pulley in a power transmission system. The method includes the steps of using a vibration analysis model which involves a) generating data relative to the power transmission system; and b) calculating belt tension values, including a selected belt tension value, using the generated data. In the event that the selected belt tension value is calculated to be at or lower than a predetermined belt tension value, a correction is made in the selected belt tension value. The corrected, selected, calculated belt tension value is used to carry out the vibration analysis.

摘要: A gas turbine steam cooled system has a high temperature portion 8 outlet steam temperature maintained to a predetermined value without a cooling steam pressure becoming lower than the pressure in the gas turbine cylinder. Steam coming from an intermediate pressure superheater 10 of a waste heat recovery boiler 2 is led into the high temperature portion 8 of the gas turbine for cooling thereof. The temperature of the cooling steam at the outlet of the high temperature portion 8 is detected by a high temperature portion outlet steam temperature detector 15, and a signal thereof is sent a lower value selector 19 via a temperature controller 11. Pressure in the gas turbine cylinder is detected by a gas turbine cylinder pressure detector 17, and pressure of the cooling steam at the high temperature portion 8 outlet is detected by a high temperature portion outlet steam pressure detector 16. A differential signal thereof is sent to a pressure controller 18. Signals from the temperature controller 11 and the pressure controller 18 are inputted into the lower selector 19, and temperature control valve 12 is controlled by the lower value thereof to be opened and closed.

摘要: In a management system in which a plurality of copiers are managed by a host computer, each copier is provided with a device that is connected to the host computer so as to manage the copier. The device can be initialized from the copier without advance registration in the host computer. To achieve this, when a serviceperson, having set up the copier, enters a registration code and executes initialization, the device communicates with the host computer and transmits thereto an initialization report. On receiving the initialization report, the host computer creates a database, and subsequently sets the device using predetermined values in the database and assigns thereto a copier ID number. When communication has been completed without errors, the device returns the copier ID number to the copier. To register the copier, an operator of the host computer opens a screen of a list of non-registered pieces of equipment to be managed in order to select and register the corresponding copier on that screen. Thus, a database is made ready for use in the host computer.

摘要: In a management system in which electronic photocopiers are linked through a network with a host computer at a maintenance company that manages the photocopiers and with another host computer at a lease company that performs charging and other tasks related to the use of the photocopiers, registration to the latter host computer and setting thereupon of transmission times of periodical reports can be performed without any inconvenience. Data including the ID number of a copier and the code of the maintenance company are transmitted from a communications control device provided in the copier to the host computer of the lease company. This host computer, when the received ID number and code have not been registered, puts the ID number and code on a list of unregistered copiers, and makes the device transmit data every day until the copier is registered. When the copier is registered, the host computer erases the ID number of the copier and the code of the maintenance company from the list of unregistered copiers. Thus, the lease company's failure to register a copier can be readily detected, so that a lease contract can be fulfilled without delay.
