    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) and method are provided for transmitting an in-device coexistence (IDC) indication message in a wireless communication system. The UE receives a configuration message including an IDC indication from a base station. The UE transmits an IDC indication message to the base station if the UE determines that the IDC indication contains specific information. The specific information comprises an activation bit. The presence of the activation bit in the configuration message represents permission for the UE to transmit the IDC indication message. The IDC indication message includes frequency division multiplexing (FDM) assistant information.
