Abstract: The present invention relates to a digital broadcasting system for transmitting/receiving a digital broadcasting signal and a method of processing data. In one aspect of the present invention provides a method of processing data, the method including receiving a broadcasting signal in which mobile service data and main service data are multiplexed, demodulating the received broadcasting signal, obtaining an identifier indicating that data frame of the broadcasting signal includes service guide information, decoding and storing the service guide information from the data frame; and outputting a service included in the mobile service data according to the decoded service guide information.

Abstract: A digital broadcasting system and a data processing method are disclosed. A time zone identifier is inserted into program table information of a broadcasting signal and the broadcasting signal is transmitted/received. The digital broadcasting system can calculate a local time of a region, in which the digital broadcasting system is located, using the time zone identifier. Accordingly, although the position of the digital broadcasting system is changed, it is possible to process the broadcasting signal related to the local time without an error.

Abstract: A digital television (DTV) receiving system includes a tuner, a demodulator, a known data detector, an equalizer, a transmission detector, and a block decoder. The tuner receives a DTV signal having a data frame in which main and mobile service data are multiplexed. The demodulator demodulates the DTV signal, and the known data detector detects known data included in the mobile service data. The equalizer equalizes the demodulated DTV signal using the detected known data, and the transmission parameter detector detects an error correction mode from the equalized DTV signal. Finally, the block decoder decodes the equalized DTV signal for error correction using the detected error correction mode.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a digital broadcast system and a data processing method. A broadcast signal in which mobile service data and main service data are multiplexed is transmitted and received. Then, in a broadcasting receiver, the program table information including information about a service or a program of an ensemble is parsed according to an identifier of the ensemble in which the mobile service data are multiplexed, in the received broadcast signal. Abstract: A method is described for transmitting broadcast signals. First encoding of first broadcast service data is performed. Second encoding of the first encoded first broadcast service data is performed. The broadcast signals having the second encoded first broadcast service data multiplexed with second broadcast service data are transmitted. Each of the second encoded first broadcast service data and the second broadcast service data is allocated in a different data unit. The second encoded first broadcast service data and the second broadcast service data are allocated in different data units, respectively. Different robustness are allocated to the first broadcast service data and the second broadcast service data.

Abstract: A digital broadcast receiving system includes a known data detector, a carrier recovery unit, and a timing recovery unit. The known data detector may detect known data information inserted and transmitted from a digital broadcast transmitting system and using the known data information to estimate initial frequency offset. The carrier recovery unit may obtain initial synchronization by using the initial frequency offset, and may detect frequency offset from the received data by using the known sequence position indicator so as to perform carrier recovery. The timing recovery unit may detect timing error information from the received signal by using the known sequence position indicator so as to perform timing recovery.
