    摘要: The display panel has an outer surface to which a sign may be attached and an inner surface having a fastener composed of resiliently deformable material. An end of the fastener is separated from the display panel by a slit which is adapted to receive an outer plate of a conventional door handle The outer plate is held in the slit by the resiliently deformable composition of the fastener. The plate may however be removed from the slit by the application of a force opposed to the bias of the resilient material in order to widen the slit.

    摘要: A data reception unit for receiving a plurality of data streams over a data channel, the data streams being received as amounts of data and each amount of data comprising a data portion including data from a data stream and an identity portion identifying that data stream, the data reception unit comprising: a data stream memory comprising a plurality of data stream storage areas, each for storing data from a respective one of a set of the data streams, and an escape buffer; a first storage information memory for holding first storage information for facilitating storage in the respective data stream storage area of data from the set of the data streams; and a data storage controller for, for each received amount of data, receiving the identity portion of the amount of data and performing a storage operation comprising: accessing the first storage information memory; and if the first storage information memory holds first storage information for the data stream identified by the identity portion, storing the data portion of the amount of data in the data stream storage area corresponding to that data stream; and if the first storage information memory does not hold first storage information for the data stream identified by the identity portion, storing the data portion of the amount of data in the escape buffer; and a processing unit connected to the escape buffer for performing an assembly operation comprising executing steps to assemble the information stored in the escape buffer into respective data streams.

    摘要: A system which marries a tethered, digital bus with image broadcasting to allow multiple, low-cost cameras to communicate with a host. This is done by using an external receiver on a tethered bus, and by putting much of the processing circuitry in the receiver, rather than the camera. The broadcasting can be either a NTSC/PAL type of analog broadcasting or a digital broadcasting technique. The camera can be made with low cost, readily available NTSC/PAL, other analog video components, or with readily available digital telephone components. The external receiver unit of the present invention does all the necessary data processing and compression to fit the available bandwidth of the bus to which it is communicating, and provides for a low cost and extensible method of inputting digital image data into a personal computer (PC) or other host.

    摘要: Data stream transfer apparatus for receiving a data stream of data cells at variable time intervals and transmitting data frames at predetermined time intervals, including a receiving apparatus, a buffer memory, a data transfer interface, a central processing unit (CPU), and a memory access unit. The receiving apparatus receives the data cells and stores them in the buffer memory. The data transfer interface transfers data frames out of the apparatus at the predetermined time intervals and generates an indication that the data frame has been transferred. The memory access unit receives data defining a location of a data frame in the buffer memory, accesses the buffer memory to retrieve that data frame and transmits that data frame to the data transfer interface. The CPU, upon receiving the indication, determines a time for transfer of a subsequent data frame, and upon reaching that time, transmits to the memory access unit the location of the subsequent frame in the buffer memory.

    摘要: A high pressure multi-stage centrifugal pump with an axially split casing (10) and a number of impellers (14) carried by a drive shaft (12) has inter-stage bushings (24) and rings (22) for sealing each side of each impeller. Each bushing (24) or ring (22) is conventionally prevented from rotating by a radial pin protruding from the lower half of the casing (10) into an axial slot in the periphery of the bushing or ring. The pin is necessarily small and is liable to shear, difficult to engage in the slot and, in cases where the bushing (24) or ring (22) is diametrically split, does not allow rotation of the lower half for its removal without lifting the shaft (12). To avoid all these disadvantages, without introducing any risk of leakage, a tangential pin (32) is fitted in a blind hole (34) in the casing (10) so that its exposed end (37) is flush with the joint face (28) of the casing and abuts against a shoulder ( 44) formed by a recess (38) in the periphery of the bushing (24) or ring (22). This tangential pin (32) can be larger than the known radial pin and is subjected to compression, not shear.
