摘要: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that facilitates interaction between a stereo image-capturing device and a three-dimensional (3D) display. The system comprises a stereo image-capturing device, a plurality of trackers, an event generator, an event processor, and a 3D display. During operation, the stereo image-capturing device captures images of a user. The plurality of trackers track movements of the user based on the captured images. Next, the event generator generates an event stream associated with the user movements, before the event processor in a virtual-world client maps the event stream to state changes in the virtual world. The 3D display then displays an augmented reality with the virtual world.

摘要: An improved method and a communication means node implementing the method for load control in connection with a multimedia service transmission intended for multiple receivers over a wireless network are disclosed. The receivers in the wireless network are able to respond to requests communicated from an ordering entity by feeding back responses to a management entity in said wireless network. The feedback of these responses uses a different communication means, separate from said wireless network. This different communication means has limited communication resources. A transmission load caused in said different communication means by said feedback of said responses is according to the invention controlled by the different communication means itself.

摘要: A toothbrush is disclosed. The toothbrush includes a head; a base member supported by a neck; a support member having a plurality of holes therein; a resilient cushion member disposed, at least in part, between the base member and the support member, the cushion member being fixed to the support member; at least one center bristle tuft extending from the support member; and two or more outer bristle tufts located at least partially around the at least one center bristle tuft. The center bristle tuft has a first shaped cross section and the outer bristle tufts have a second shaped cross section. The first shaped cross section is different from the second shaped cross section. Applying a force to the center bristle tuft and/or the outer bristle tufts causes the center bristle tuft and/or the outer bristle tufts to deflect into the resilient cushion member.

摘要: In a method for optimizing exchanges of acknowledgement signals between a mobile equipment in asynchronous communication with a plurality of base stations of a cellular telecommunication network, the terminal sends data to the base stations and each base station is likely to return to the terminal a positive acknowledgement ACK or negative acknowledgement NACK. The method includes the steps of: synchronizing the mobile equipment with the network; and estimating quality of downlink communication between each base station and the mobile equipment on at least one standardized channel, such that if at least one base station returns an acknowledgement to the mobile equipment, the mobile equipment only requests a NACK from the base stations whilst the data is continuously being transmitted, and if all the base stations return a NACK to the mobile equipment, the mobile equipment only requests an ACK from the base stations during the current communication.

摘要: A hybrid adenovirus Semliki Forest Virus (SFV) vector includes 3′ and 5′ inverted terminal repeat (ITR) of adenovirus, the packaging signal of adenovirus, the structural genes encoding the adenovirus hexon and penton proteins, fiber and knob proteins and that may be deleted in the E4 region, E2 region or in the both the E2 and E4 regions. The adenovirus vector may not require a helper virus coinfection for propagation in producer cell lines. A hybrid vector includes a eukaryotic promoter controlling expression of the 42S genome of SFV comprising the nonstructural genes 1-4 or two point mutations thereof, and the therapeutic mRNA, in the cytoplasm. In use, the hybrid vector further comprises cDNA encoding for microRNA (miRNA) and hairpin loops of short interfering RNA (siRNA) or cDNA encoding for double-stranded RNA (dsRNA).

摘要: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that can recommend leisure activities to a user. During operation, the system receives one or more activity types. Next it receives a bound in terms of a nearness metric such as travel distance, travel time, or travel cost. Next, it receives location information associated with a computing device of the user. The system then uses the location information to identify a cell stored in a spatial database. The system then returns a set of leisure activities that match the activity types and that are within the bound relative to the cell. The spatial database includes leisure activity data that is segmented based on physical position such as latitude and longitude. Moreover, the cells of the spatial database are linked based on the nearness metric.
