The solution includes transmitting a set of user terminals parameters related to hybrid automatic repeat request, HARQ, messaging, instructing the user terminals to transmit HARQ feedback using a first set of resources and in case of at least one unsuccessful HARQ messaging reception also using a second set of resources; transmitting data of one or more downlink HARQ processes to a user terminal and receiving HARQ feedback from the first set of resources and the second set of resources.
Abstract:
There is provided a method in a radio communication network providing a service for a plurality of devices, the method comprising: determining a service outage probability for a device that is going to move to a sub-area of a coverage area of the network, the service outage probability associated with said sub-area; in response to determining that the service outage probability exceeds a threshold, requesting a measurement device to move to said sub-area and to perform one or more radio frequency measurements; determining whether the service outage probability exceeds another threshold based at least on the requested one or more radio frequency measurements; and triggering at least one action if the service outage probability exceeds said another threshold.
Abstract:
An apparatus for use by a packet duplication control element or function, the apparatus including processing circuitry, and memory for storing instructions to be executed by the processing circuitry, wherein the memory and the instructions are configured to, with the processing circuitry, cause the apparatus at least: to receive assistance information indicating communication conditions of at least one communication link between a communication element and at least two communication network access points, to process the assistance information for preparing a packet duplication control, to generate transmission control information on the basis of the result of the processing of the assistance information, the transmission control information indicating settings for a packet duplication process in the established multi-connectivity communication, and to send the transmission control information to at least one transmission control element or function being involved in the packet duplication process in the established multi-connectivity communication.
Abstract:
Various communication systems may benefit from reliable random access. For example, fifth generation (5G) wireless communication systems may benefit from a coordinated reliable random access technique based on common random access channel resources for a quality of service aware multi-connectivity link. A method can include preparing a random access message at a user equipment. The method can also include transmitting the random access message from the user equipment on a shared resource. The shared resource can include a resource, such as a random access channel, known by a plurality of access nodes or shared by a plurality of access nodes.
Abstract:
Various communication systems may benefit from techniques and systems for resource allocation. For example, communication systems of the third generation partnership project may benefit from device to device discovery resource allocation methods and systems. A method can include determining that downlink data transmission may cause conflict between uplink control channel transmission and device to device discovery signal transmissions or that uplink shared channel transmissions may conflict with device to device discovery signal transmissions; and requesting a user equipment to report device to device discovery needs based on the determining.
Abstract:
Various communication systems may benefit from an accurate detection method. The method may include determining correlation values between a first sequence of samples and at least one pre-defined sequence, detecting whether at least one first peak exists by comparing the correlation values with at least one first detection threshold. If the at least one first peak exists, the method may further include performing summing of at least a subset of the correlation values and detecting whether at least one second peak exists by comparing the summed correlation values with a second detection threshold.
Abstract:
According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided an apparatus comprising at least one processing core configured to determine that the apparatus has uplink information to transmit, to cause a transmitter to transmit a beacon, and to transmit the uplink information using either a full duplex resource or a half duplex resource based at least in part on a determination concerning a response to the beacon, and a receiver configured to listen for the response to the beacon.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide methods and apparatuses of providing content data and accessing con tent data. The method for providing content data comprises: receiving a first request for content data, the first request being originated from a first user equipment and comprising an indication of the requested content data and an indication from where the requested content data is accessible; identifying a local equipment that is in proximity to the first user equipment and has pre-stored the requested content data; and returning a first response directed to the first user equipment, by which the first user equipment is informed to access the requested content data from the local equipment via a first device-to-device communication with the local equipment. With the proposed solutions, network loads can be reduced.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for providing a preference to a user equipment to indicate how the user equipment should respond to a paging message and the like. The method may include receiving, at a user equipment, an indication representative of whether the user equipment should respond to a base station or respond to an access point; and accessing, based on the received indication, at least one of the base station or the access point to enable offloading to the access point. Related apparatus, systems, methods, and articles are also described.
