Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for indicating a data rate of a packet. The transmitting device may select the data rate of a data field of the packet to be transmitted to the receiving device, and may select a pattern to embed within a preamble of the packet based on the selected data rate. In some implementations, the transmitting device may select a first structure including a first number of instances of a sequence or its logical complement if the selected data rate is a low data rate, and may select a second structure including a second number of instances of the sequence or its logical complement if the selected data rate is a high data rate.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for high-efficiency wireless frequency division multiplexing are provided. A method includes exchanging, at an access point, at least one frame reserving a wireless medium with at least one of a first and second wireless device. The method further includes receiving a first communication on a first set of wireless frequencies from the first wireless device. The method further includes receiving a second communication, at least partially concurrent with the first communication, on a second set of wireless frequencies from the second wireless device. The method further includes transmitting at least one acknowledgment of the first and second communication. The first set and the second set are mutually exclusive subsets of a set of wireless frequencies available for use by both the first and second wireless device.

Abstract: Various aspects are provided related to techniques for signal extension (SE) signaling. A signal extension (SE) duration for a data unit can be identified from a set of at least three possible SE durations. A single signaling bit in the data unit can be used to indicate the identified SE duration from the set of at least three possible SE durations to a receiver of the data unit. The data unit can be output for transmission to the receiver.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for single and multi-user signal extensions or padding are provided. In various aspects, a number of symbols required to transmit a plurality of data bits to each of a plurality of wireless communication devices and a fraction of useful bits in a final symbol of each of the plurality of data bits is determined. A signaling extension length may also be determined based at least in part on the fraction of useful bits and a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) of each of the plurality of wireless communication devices. A plurality of data packets for each of the plurality of wireless communication devices are generated, with each data packet comprising the corresponding data bits and the signaling extension after the final symbol of each of the plurality of data packets.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for group formation and sounding for distributed multi-user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO). Some implementations include a method of wireless communication. The method includes transmitting, from a first access point of a plurality of access points, an announcement frame for performing a beamforming procedure for a distributed transmission. The distributed transmission includes a transmission from the plurality of access points. The announcement frame includes at least one identifier of a user terminal in a different basic service set than a basic service set of the first access point. The method further includes transmitting a packet for measuring a channel. The method further includes receiving feedback information from the user terminal based on the packet for measuring the channel. The method further includes transmitting the distributed transmission using the beamforming procedure.

The method may further include receiving a preamble, the preamble occupying a first bandwidth, identifying an un-rotated BPSK modulated symbol following a first preamble portion in the received preamble, and detecting that the preamble is associated with a wakeup waveform based at least in part on the identified un-rotated BPSK modulated symbol.

Abstract: Methods, devices, and computer program products for improving training field design in packets with increased symbol durations are disclosed. In one aspect, a method of transmitting a packet on a wireless communication network is disclosed. The method includes transmitting a preamble of the packet over one or more space-time-streams, the preamble including one or more training fields configured to be used for channel estimation, the one or more training fields each comprising one or more symbols of a first symbol duration. The method further includes transmitting a payload of the packet over the one or more space-time-streams, the payload comprising one or more symbols of a second symbol duration, the second symbol duration greater than the first symbol duration.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for estimating angular information of a received wireless signal. In some implementations, a receiving device may receive a wireless signal from a transmitting device, and estimate channel conditions, based on a number of sounding sequences, to determine a channel frequency response of the received wireless signal. The receiving device may determine a channel impulse response based an inverse discrete Fourier transfer (DFT) function or a partial inverse DFT function of the channel frequency response, and then select a portion of the channel impulse response. The receiving device may estimate an angle of arrival of the received wireless signal based on the selected portion of the channel impulse response.
