    摘要: An instrument for use with a surgical navigation system to aid in cutting a bone is provided. The instrument includes an anchoring block configured for attachment to a bone and a cutting block or guide having a cutting slot or other guiding surface. The cutting block is also configured for attachment to a bone. A connecting member connects the anchoring block to the cutting block and permits the cutting block to move relative to the anchoring block within a pre-determined range of motion. The connecting member also prevents movement of the cutting block relative to the anchoring block beyond the pre-determined range of motion. In certain embodiments, the connecting member can be configured to provide resistance to movement of the cutting block relative to the anchoring block, such that the cutting block can maintain its position without being held by the physician.

    摘要: The invention relates to a knee joint prosthesis system adapted to replace the articulating knee portion of a femur and a tibia. The knee joint prosthesis system includes a first femoral component and a second femoral component. The first femoral component includes a first femoral engagement region and a first condylar portion having a first femoral bearing surface. The first femoral engagement region is operable to engage a resecting engagement surface of the femur and the first condylar portion includes a first posterior region having a first thickness. The second femoral component includes a second femoral engagement region and a second condylar portion having a second femoral bearing surface. The second femoral engagement region is operable to engage the resected engagement surface of the femur and the second condylar portion includes a second posterior region having a second thickness. The second thickness is larger than the first thickness and the first femoral engagement region is substantially the same as the second femoral engagement region, whereby a surgeon may select either the first femoral component or the second femoral component for attachment to the femur.

    摘要: An orthopedic device for correcting a femoral bone abnormality includes a patient-specific three-dimensional shell and a patient-specific guiding feature. The shell has an outer surface and an inner bone engagement surface customized in a pre-operating planning stage by computer imaging to closely mate and conform to and substantially cover a femoral head of a patient in only one position. The guiding feature is pre-operatively planned relative to the shell such that when the shell is fitted over the femoral head, the guiding feature can guide a removal tool for removing an abnormality portion of the proximal femur of the patient.

    摘要: A knee joint prosthesis assembly according to the present disclosure can include a femoral component, a unitary tibial component, a medial bearing, and a lateral bearing. The femoral component can have a medial and a lateral condyle portion connected by a patellar track portion. The femoral component can form an opening between the medial and lateral condyles. The unitary tibial component can have a medial portion that includes a first posterior engagement lip and a first outer securing lip. The tibial component can further include a lateral portion that includes a second posterior engagement lip and a second outer securing lip. The medial bearing can have a first posterior groove formed thereon that selectively engages the first posterior engagement lip and a first outer groove that selectively engages the first outer securing lip.

    摘要: A pre-operative planning and manufacturing method for orthopedic surgery includes obtaining pre-operative medical image data representing a joint portion of a patient. The method also includes constructing a three-dimensional digital model of the joint portion and manufacturing a patient-specific alignment guide for the joint portion from the three-dimensional digital model of the joint portion when the image data is sufficient to construct the three-dimensional digital model of the joint portion. The patient-specific alignment guide has a three-dimensional patient-specific surface pre-operatively configured to nest and closely conform to a corresponding surface of the joint portion of the patient in only one position relative to the joint portion. The method further includes determining, from the image data, a size of a non-custom implant to be implanted in the patient and manufacturing the non-custom implant when there is insufficient image data to construct the patient-specific alignment guide therefrom.
