In heat-shrinkable polyester films, the content of 1,4-cyclohexane dimethanol is 10 to 50% by mole based on the polyhydric alcohol component and that the heat shrinkage factors of a 10 cm square sample of the films in (A) hot water of 75° C., (B) hot water of 85° C., and (C) hot water of 95° C. are 30 to 40%, 50 to 60%, and 65 to 77%, respectively. The films can be produced by drawing under specified conditions.

To provide a heat shrinkable film that, when used as a label of beverage container, enhances the smoothness of external surface side to thereby prevent merchandise jamming in an automatic vending machine of beverage and that is fully satisfactory in solvent bonding capability and excels in processability. There is provided a heat shrinkable polyester film characterized in that (A) at least one major surface thereof is overlaid with 0.002 to 0.5 g/m2, in terms of solid content coating amount of a silicone containing easily slipping layer, (B) a friction coefficient between one and the same easily-slipping layer satisfies a relationship of μd≦0.27, and that (C) the heat shrinkable polyester film exhibits a heat shrinkage percentage of not less than 50% in a maximum shrinkage direction, after immersion in hot water at 95° C. for 10 seconds. Thus, there is provided the heat shrinkable film that when used as a label of beverage container, enhances the smoothness of external surface side to thereby prevent merchandise jamming in an automatic vending machine of beverage and that is fully satisfactory in solvent bonding capability and excels in processability.

The present invention relates to a heat shrinkable polyester film. The present invention also relates to a heat shrinkable polyester tube obtained from the heat shrinkable polyester film, a production method thereof, a label using this tube and a container wearing this label. The heat shrinkable polyester film of the present invention has suitable heat shrinkable properties, superior printing property and adhesion property with a solvent. When it is used for packaging (e.g., covering, bundling and the like), the film shows superior appearance and good mountability. Moreover, the heat shrinkable polyester film of the present invention has a small apparent specific gravity and is easily collected separately from a bottle when it is used as a label of a bottle (such as PET bottle).
