摘要: In a first measurement stage, reaction solutions of samples are optically measured by a biochemical analyzer, and the measurement result of the analysis item which is an index of the disease status regarding the samples is compared with the check index. This check index is stored in memory beforehand. When the measurement result corresponds to the check index, the sample processing goes to a second measurement stage for measuring a specific item. In the second measurement stage, the sample is measured by an immuno-assay apparatus or a nucleic acid analyzer, and the measurement result is outputted.

摘要: Microcapsules labeled with an antigen or antibody contain a liquid containing a fluorescent substance, for example, carboxyfluorescein. The liquid in the microcapsules is prepared so as to have a viscosity different from that of a liquid outside the microcapsules. For example, the microcapsules contain polyvinyl alcohol as a substance for increasing the viscosity. Antigen-antibody reaction is caused by mixing such microcapsules, a sample and a complement, and complement is activated with resulting antigen-antibody complex, whereby the microcapsules are lysed. The reaction mixture is irradiated with exciting light, and the polarization components (I.sub..parallel. and I.sub..perp.) of fluorescence from the reaction mixture are detected. The concentration of a substance to be assayed in the sample is determined by calculating the degree of polarization fluorescence P on the basis of the intensities of the polarization components.According to this invention, the degree of polarization fluorescence of liquid before the immunoreaction is high but the degree of polarization fluorescence after the initiation of the immunoreaction is low. Therefore, immunoassay can be carried out with high accuracy.

摘要: An electronic timepiece includes a frequency supply for providing a relatively high frequency time base signal, a frequency converter responsive to the time base signal to provide a relatively low frequency time unit signal, timing signals, and a plurality of word pulses indicative of plurality of data words representing time data concerning the current time, and a set of additional data other than the time data. A primary register is arranged to store the time data and the additional data, and display means displays the time data and the additional data. An external control member is adapted to provide an input signal when actuated, and an indexing signal is generated in response to the input signal. A secondary register is arranged to store a plurality of sets of additional data and is operable to transfer each set of additional data to the primary register in a sequential manner as the first mentioned set of additional data in response to the indexing signal, whereupon each of the sets of additional data is sequentially displayed by the display means.

摘要: An electronic timepiece equipped with an alarm system whereby an external control member is actuated a desired number of times or for a desired time duration causing a count to be set into a first counter. Subsequently, when an alarm is generated, an identical count value must be set into a second counter by actuating an external control member for the same number of times or for an appropriate time duration in order to shut off the alarm. Possibility of the user shutting off the alarm signal and then falling asleep again is thus greatly reduced. A snooze switch control function can also be easily incorporated.

摘要: An electronic timepiece includes a reversible stepping motor to drive rotatable hands to provide a time display. In a first preferred embodiment, the electronic timepiece includes a circuit means to generate alternating current pulses having an increased pulse width or an increased amplitude to drive the stepping motor with an increased driving current during high speed time correction when a manually operable external control member is actuated during time correction. In a second preferred embodiment, the electronic timepiece comprises a clockwise correction switch, a counter-clockwise correction switch and circuit means for generating first and second alternating current pulses of first and second pulse widths at a predetermined frequency higher than normal driving pulses to drive a stepping motor in clockwise and counter-clockwise directions, respectively, to perform clockwise and counter-clockwise corrections when the clockwise and counter-clockwise correction switches are actuated during time corrections, respectively. The pulse width of the second alternating current pulses is selected to be smaller than that of the normal driving pulses.

摘要: A set of digital indicators in an electronic display unit of a timepiece are actuated by driving pulses transmitted thereto through respective stages of a multistage frequency divider. A switching mchanism is manually operable to advance certain of these stages, independently of the driving pulses and at a faster rate, to adjust the display. A timer discriminates between short-term and long-term switch reversals to differentiate between a gating signal, giving passage to a train of high-rate stepping pulses, and (a) selection signals identifying an indicator to be stepped or (b) manually produced pulses for adjustment at a slower rate. A protective circuit may be inserted between the switching mechanism and the display-controlling circuitry for preventing the transmission of indication-modifying signals to the display unit in the absence of a special unblocking signal, generated separately, which trips an electronic relay such as a flip-flop into an off-normal condition for the emission of an enabling signal; the flip-flop may be automatically reset to normal, after a predetermined period, in the absence of a manually generated blocking signal. Stationary digital indicators, such as those registering the triggering time of an alarm circuit, may be similarly adjusted.
