    摘要: Drive signals are applied to the segment and digit electrodes of a liquid crystal display device in a time-multiplexed manner by means of a control circuit adapted to control first and second gates the output of one of which is selected as a segment signal by selection means, and further adapted to control a digit signal generating circuit for producing a digit signal that cooperates with the segment signal to drive the display. The effective application of drive signals allows a reduction in the number of segment electrodes and in the quantity of associated wiring so that the degree of integration on an IC chip can be increased.

The driver circuit has a power source, switching means connected between the power source and the segment electrodes, and circuit means disposed between the common electrode and the power source. The circuit means is operative to couple the common electrode to either a positive terminal or a negative terminal of the power source, whereby an electric current will flow through the segment electrodes in bleaching and coloring directions with the use of a single power source.

    摘要: A driver circuit for an electrochromic display device for an electronic timepiece. In a first preferred embodiment, drive signals are applied through a plurality of source follower first and second metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors to segment electrodes of the electrochromic display device. The first and second transistors have source electrodes connected together and also connected to the segment electrode to lower the voltage being applied across the segment electrode and a common electrode to drive the display device at a lower voltage. In a second preferred embodiment, the common electrode of the display device is alternately coupled to the high and low potentials of the battery by means of an inverter circuit composed of source follower transistors, which function to reduce the voltage being applied across the segment electrodes and the common electrode.

    摘要: In an electronic timepiece having a primary frequency divider circuit coupled to receive a standard frequency signal and comprising a group of P-channel FETs and a group of N-channel FETs, a bias circuit supplies a bias input to the P-channel FET group and a separate bias input to the N-channel FET group. By providing these bias inputs through current mirror coupling from a standard current source, the response of the primary frequency divider circuit to low amplitudes of the standard frequency signal can be made substantially independent of timepiece battery voltage variations, over a wide range of battery voltages.
