摘要: The gain of an amplifier in a receiver operating in a cellular communication system is controlled by determining one or more gain variability metrics, which are then used to produce first and second threshold values. A frequency difference between a current carrier frequency and a target carrier frequency is ascertained and then compared to the threshold values. Target gain setting production is based on comparison results: If the frequency difference is larger than the first threshold, a full automatic gain control algorithm is performed; if the frequency difference is smaller than the first threshold and larger than the second threshold, an optimized automatic gain control algorithm is performed, wherein the optimized automatic gain control algorithm uses a current gain setting as a starting point; and if the frequency difference is smaller than both the first and second thresholds, the current gain setting is used as the target gain setting.

摘要: In one aspect of the teachings herein, a wireless device operating in a wireless communication network determines the measurement rate to use for making inter-frequency measurements on a given frequency layer, based on a performance requirement specified for that layer. For example, the wireless device uses a higher measurement rate for a frequency layer that has a performance requirement that is higher than the performance requirement specified for another one of the layers on which it is to perform inter-frequency measurements. Correspondingly, in an example scenario, a network node sends measurement configuration information to a targeted device, where that information indicates the layers on which the device is to perform inter-frequency measurements and indicates the performance requirements corresponding to respective ones of those layers. By way of example, the network node may be a base station, a relay, or another wireless device.

摘要: A method of a wireless communication device for operation in a wireless communication network comprising a plurality of cells is disclosed. The method comprises performing radio resource management measurements based on received reference signals of one or more of the cells, wherein the radio resource management measurements are performed over a bandwidth comprising K subcarriers. The method also comprises organizing the K subcarriers into N blocks, wherein each block comprises adjacent subcarriers, performing coherent averaging of the radio resource management measurements over the adjacent subcarriers of each block to produce intermediate measurement results and performing non-coherent averaging of the intermediate measurement results to produce a radio resource management measurement result. The method further comprises detecting whether a condition is fulfilled, wherein the condition is suitable for determining if the wireless communication device is in a dense network scenario, setting N to a first value if the condition is fulfilled and to a second value if the condition is not fulfilled, wherein the first value is lower than the second value. Corresponding arrangement, wireless communication device and computer program product are also disclosed.
