摘要： Images sensed through object lenses 100R and 100L, having zoom lenses, with image sensors 102R and 102L are processed by image signal processors 104R and 104L, and an image of an object in each of the sensed images is separated from a background image on the basis of the processed image signals. The separated image signals representing the image of the object enter the image processor 220, where a three-dimensional shape of the object is extracted on the basis of parameters used upon sensing the images. The parameters are automatically adjusted so that images of the object fall within the both image sensing areas of the image sensors 102R and 102L and that they fall within the both focal depths of the image sensors 102R and 102L.

摘要： Timing signal generators 24R and 24L, simultaneously initialized, synchronize image-sensing devices 21R and 21L with each other. Video signal processors 23R and 23L process the synchronized image signals, from the image sensing devices 21R and 21L, to obtain partial image signals from the synchronized image signals. The partial image signals are converted, using a Gate 29 and a memory 27, into a single-system image signal, in which the partial image signals are arranged in a horizontal direction within one field. Thus, an image signal having well-balanced horizontal and vertical resolutions is outputted. This allows ordinary VTR recording and reproduction.

A generation unit generates a signal based on the video signal in accordance with the detected mode of the video signal such that the generated signal has a format that corresponds to the mode of the video signal.

摘要： An image processing apparatus having a solid state image sensor for inputting an optical image thereto and converting the image into an electrical signal; an image memory having a general-purpose DRAM formed by at least one chip and required to control the refresh operation from the outside of the memory chip; a timing signal generator for generating timing of read from the solid state image sensor; a transfer/storage control device for horizontally reading data from the solid state image sensor synchronously with the horizontal read timing signal generated from the timing signal generator, transferring the read data and storing the data in the DRAM; a first refresh signal generator for refreshing the DRAM at predetermined time intervals when no data is read from the solid state image sensor; and a second refresh signal generator for refreshing the DRAM a predetermined number of times during the dormant period of the horizontal read timing signal. In the apparatus, the second refresh signal generator is made effective synchronously with the horizontal read timing signal during the time of read from the solid state image sensor, and the first refresh signal generator is made effective during a time other than the time of read from the solid state image sensor.
