摘要: The supporting structure for a rod integrator 300 includes, for example, holding members 350a, 350b for holding the rod integrator 300, and supporting units 360a, 360b for supporting the holding members. Each holding member 350a contacts by its planar portions (walls) respectively with two side surfaces of the rod integrator 300 adjacent to one another. The holding member 350a has a clearance such that the holding member does not contact with the edge shared by the two side surfaces of the rod integrator 300. The supporting unit 360a includes, for example, a supporting member 361a and screw 362a. The supporting unit 360a supports the rod integrator 300 by pressing of the screw 362a along the direction of the diagonal of the rod integrator 300 via the supporting member 361a. By doing so, chipping and scratching proximate to the edge can be reduced, and soiling of the reflecting plane can be prevented.

摘要: An illumination unit of the present invention includes: an ellipsoidal reflector having a first focus and a second focus; an arc tube; a collimating lens; a first lens array 120 having a plurality of small lenses 122 for splitting the illumination luminous flux from the collimating lens into a plurality of partial luminous fluxes; a second lens array having a plurality of small lenses corresponding to the plurality of the small lenses 122 of the first lens array 120; and a superimposing lens for superimposing respective partial luminous fluxes from the second lens array at the illuminated area, characterized in that the light incident surface of the first lens array 120 is situated at the position which is closer to the ellipsoidal reflector than the second focus, and which is such that the light quantity of the illumination luminous flux from the collimating lens is distributed throughout over the light incident surface. This enables the achievement of the simplification of manufacturing processing and the reduction of the manufacturing cost of the first lens array without reducing the inplane light intensity distribution characteristics on the image formation area of the electrooptic modulation unit which is the illuminated area.

摘要: An illuminating optical system includes a light source device for emitting a substantially parallel light beam, a first lens array for dividing the light beam into a plurality of sub light beams, and a superimposing lens for superimposing the sub light beams on a surface to be illuminated. In the first lens array, the size of each of the small lenses disposed on the outer periphery is set to be smaller than the size of each of the small lenses disposed on the center so that light application areas formed by the plurality of sub light beams emitted from the plurality of small lenses have substantially the same size within a predetermined error range. Therefore, light emitted from a light source can be efficiently utilized.

摘要: The control circuit controls the directional coupling type optical switch, inputs the excited light from the excitation LD light source mainly via the WDM coupler to the EDF, and thereby intensifies forward excitation and controls the drive current of the light source so that the signal light with a desired value is output. On the other hand, when the signal light power with a desired value is not obtained even if the drive current of the light source reaches an upper limit, the control circuit gradually increases the ratio of the excited light to be entered to the EDF via the WDM coupler and at the same time controls the drive current of the light source so that the signal light with the desired value is output.

摘要: An ophthalmic measurement apparatus comprises a laser beam projection section for projecting into an eye a linearly polarized laser light beam emitted by a laser source, and a light receiving section provided with a photosensor for detecting laser light scattering from within the eye. An angle of the optical axes formed by both the sections with respect to the eye is set to be substantially ninety degrees. The polarization direction of the laser beam from the laser beam projection section is made variable in such a way that, during alignment, the polarization direction is set substantially perpendicular to a plane that includes the optical axes of both the sections, and during measurement it is set in a direction that is substantially in the plane. This arrangement makes it possible to cut noise components caused by light scattered by flares which are much smaller than the wavelength of the light.
