    摘要: Provided is a client/server system in which clients (terminal appliances) can uniquely determine to which server they are to be connected irrespective of whether a network has a single or plural servers. When connected to the network, a client obtains function information of each server on the network, and sets the server of the highest function, for example, as the server to which the clients are to be connected. A server compares, when a new server is connected to the network, its own function against the function of the server newly connected to the network to determine to which of the servers the clients are to be connected. The result is notified to the clients. Thus, to which server clients are to be connected is uniquely determined in a multi-server/multi-client network configuration.

A controller of the present invention compares a device type of an appliance connected to an in-home network with a skeleton stored in a skeleton DB. When a skeleton rule in accordance with the appliance type is not stored in the skeleton DB, a request for acquisition of the skeleton rule of the appliance is transmitted to a service agent. In addition, when the location of an appliance is moved, the controller sends a request for transmission of a new rule format to be added due to the movement to the service agent.

    摘要: A switching power supply includes a control circuit disposed between a feedback winding and a switching device. The control circuit includes an on-period control circuit that, in an operation under a non-low load condition, controls an on-period of the switching device such that the on-period decreases with decreasing load, a minimum on-period setting circuit that disables the on-period control circuit in an operation under a low load condition so that the on-period of the switching device does not become shorter than a predetermined minimum on-period, and an off-period control circuit that controls an off-period of the switching device in the operation under the low load condition such that the off-period increases with decreasing load. As a result, the output voltage is maintained at a constant value in accordance with a feedback signal.

    摘要: Provided is a network system which is capable of smooth remote control of appliances in a household while improving the security. A household server for controlling home appliances and an external server for mediating between the household server and a user terminal are set on an Internet. The household server gives a right to access only to the external server that is registered in advance. When accessed by the user terminal, the external server performs user authentication and, if the access is authenticated as from an authorized user, specifies which household server is to be used by the user, and makes an access request to the corresponding server. The household server checks whether the access request is valid or not and, when the access request is found as a result to be valid, allows the user terminal to input a control instruction through the intermediation of the external server.

    摘要: A self-oscillation type converter comprises a transformer and a switching transistor. The switching transistor is connected in series to a primary winding of the transformer. A start current is applied from a power supply line to the switching transistor through a start resistor, so that the switching transistor is rendered conductive. A positive feedback is performed through an application of a constant current from a constant current circuit to a base of the switching transistor in response to a voltage generated from a feedback winding, whereby the switching transistor is turned on rapidly. A CR time constant circuit is connected to an output of the constant current circuit. An output of the CR time constant circuit is applied to the base of the transistor, a transistor Q2 is turned on after a lapse of time determined by a time constant of the time constant circuit, so that the switching transistor is forcibly turned off. A voltage outputted to a secondary winding is detected by a voltage comparing circuit. If the outputted voltage becomes higher than a reference voltage, a resistance value of the CR time constant circuit is decreased by a photocoupler, maintaining a turning-on time period of the switching transistor to be constant.
