    摘要: A method and apparatus for reducing block artifacts during a residual prediction in a multilayer-based video coding are disclosed. The multilayer-based video encoding method includes obtaining a difference between a predicted block for a second block of a lower layer, which corresponds to a first block included in a current layer, and the second block; adding the obtained difference to a predicted block for the first block; smoothing a third block generated as a result of the addition using a smoothing function; and encoding a difference between the first block and the smoothed third block.

    摘要: Methods and apparatuses for encoding and decoding video are provided. The encoding method includes: performing motion estimation on a current block according to a first sub-pixel unit, and obtaining a motion vector in the first sub-pixel unit with respect to the current block; interpolating a reference picture indicated by the motion vector according to a second sub-pixel unit smaller than the first sub-pixel unit; using the interpolated reference picture, selecting a second sub-pixel in the second sub-pixel unit adjacent to a first sub-pixel in the first sub-pixel unit of the reference picture; selecting a corresponding region that has a smaller error with the current block, from among a first corresponding region of the reference picture and obtained with respect to the first sub-pixel, and a second corresponding region of the current block and obtained with respect to the selected second sub-pixel; and encoding information of the selected corresponding region.

The method of encoding an image includes determining weights for respective low-precision sub-pixels for interpolation between the low-precision sub-pixels, determining an interpolation direction for the low-precision sub-pixels based on a position of a high-precision sub-pixel between the low-precision sub-pixels, and performing motion prediction in units of high-precision sub-pixels determined by interpolation which applies the interpolation direction and the weights to the low-precision sub-pixels.

    摘要: Provided is a method of and apparatus for video encoding and decoding based on motion estimation. The method includes generating a motion vector by searching a reference picture using pixels of a current block, generating a prediction motion vector that is a prediction value of the motion vector by searching the reference picture using previously encoded pixels located adjacent to the current block, and encoding the current block based on the motion vector and the prediction motion vector. By accurately predicting the motion vector of the current block, the number of bits required for encoding the motion vector can be reduced, thereby improving the compression rate of video data.
