A co-axial filtering device for removing particles from arteries and veins comprises an outer catheter that can be inserted into a blood vessel and an inner catheter with a filter at its distal end. The filter is a radially expandable receptacle made of an elastic mesh structure of spring wires or plastic monofilaments. The filter expands into engagement with the walls of the blood vessel when it is pushed from the distal end of the outer catheter. A syringe is attached to the proximal end of the inner catheter and particles entrapped within the filter are aspirated through the inner catheter into the syringe. When filtering is no longer necessary, the filter can easily be removed by pulling the elastic material through the outer catheter.

This invention relates to a method of obtaining antibodies specific to a population of T-lymphocytes (T cells) restricted by V.beta. gene usage. The invention also relates to the antibodies obtained and to methods of using them. According to the invention, T cells are incubated with an effective amount of a superantigen under conditions and for a time sufficient to allow division and growth of T-cells reactive to the superantigen. The incubated T-cells are injected into a mammal, and thereafter serum containing antibodies specific to the incubated and injected T-cells is removed from the mammal.

MRI data, including multispectral imaging data, are input to the trained machine learning algorithm to generate the feature maps, which may indicate features such as a location and probability of a pathology classification, a severity of synovitis, a type of synovitis, a synovial membrane thickness, and other features associated with osteolysis or synovitis. In some implementations, synovial anatomy are segmented in the MRI data before inputting the MRI data to the machine learning algorithm. These segmented MRI data may be generated using another trained machine learning algorithm.

The flexible body sling includes a main torso portion that terminates in a first end and an opposing second end and is configured for placement under the patient between a head and a tailbone of the patient. The flexible sling has a first sling strap that is coupled to the first end and a second sling strap that is coupled to the second end. The ratchet device has a mount that includes a curved portion for placement over a side rail of the bed to detachably secure the ratchet device to the bed. The ratchet device has a rotatable spool with a slot for receiving one of the first sling strap and the second sling strap. The ratchet device has a pivotable handle for driving the rotatable spool.
