An oil guide portion is formed on a bearing housing for further supplying the lubrication oil to a second contact area between the thrust member and the reverse thrust bearing. A seal member is provided on the turbine shaft in slidable contact with an inner peripheral face of the normal thrust bearing.

Further, if the flat core is constructed from a planar replaceable portion and curved (three dimensional) non-replaceable portions and only the planar replaceable portion is exchanged upon replacement, preparing a plurality of inexpensive-to-manufacture planar replaceable portions having different lengths is enough and the cost is reduced. Accordingly, the width of the hollow flat parison extruded from the clearance between the flat core and the flat die can be changed.

Each roll is of corn shape and has a plurality of spiral-shaped grooves formed on its side surface. A shaft member made from iron or a similar material is inserted into an aluminum alloy tube. The aluminum alloy tube with the shaft member inside it is continuously fed to the slanted rolling machine along the pass line. Then, the periphery of the aluminum alloy tube is rolled/spread by the rolls for forming spiral shaped teeth from the tube material and for metallurgically attaching the tube to the shaft member.

The above mentioned molten carbonate fuel cell provides advantages of no reduction in cell performance which would otherwise be caused by Nernst loss, capability of fuel consumption with high efficiency, no necessity of carbon dioxide gas recycling system, responsibility to rapid fluctuation in load, making a structure of a generating set simpler, and reduction in fabrication costs.

There is provided a light-weight ceramic acoustic absorber including an alumina based ceramic containing SiC whiskers, as a perforated body with a void ratio in the range of 80 to 92%, where there are voids with a mean diameter in the range of 50 to 450 .mu.m near the front surface of the body, and the void diameters are larger towards the rear surface of the body, and a mean diameter of the voids is in the range of 500 to 3,400 .mu.m near the rear surface of the body, and there is an increasing trend in void diameters from the front to the rear surfaces. The light-weight ceramic acoustic absorber provides various advantages such as light weight, high resistance to thermal stresses, high acoustic absorptivity, and high resistance to the gas jet from a jet engine.
