摘要: A medical bandaging material made of a microfilament nonwoven fabric with a mass per unit area of 30 to 150 g/m2 and a tear strength of >40 N/5 cm, the nonwoven fabric being made of continuous multicomponent filaments, melt-spun, stretched, and directly laid down to form a nonwoven fabric, having a titer of 1.5 to 5 dtex, and the continuous multicomponent filaments, after optional prebonding, being split, at least to the extent of 80%, into continuous microfilaments having a titer of 0.01 to 1.0 dtex and bonded.

摘要: A wound dressing that efficiently absorbs fluid from fluid exuding wounds and can easily be released from the wound without disrupting the wound surface and a process for its manufacture is provided. The dressing comprises a layer of film bonded to a fibrous absorbent web containing a mixture of a particulate superabsorbent and a hydrocolloid. The fibrous absorbent web has a glazed exposed surface wherein the fibers comprising the glazed exposed surface are substantially fused to each other. The glazed exposed surface has a multiplicity of particles comprising a mixture of an adhesive and a hydrocolloid distributed throughout and adherent to the surface. Preferably about 25% to about 50% of the surface is left uncovered by particles comprising the adhesive and the hydrocolloid to enable more efficient transfer of wound exudate into the fibrous absorbent web while the hydrocolloid contained in the particles of adhesive facilitates release of the dressing from the wound without disrupting the surface. A selvage encompasses the wound dressing, with the selvage comprising fibers of the fibrous absorbent web that are substantially fused to each other and to the layer of film bonded to the fibrous absorbent web.

摘要: A plaster comprising the film layer which is composed of a film having 0.5 to 4.9 .mu.m thickness, 8 to 85 g/mm strengths, respectively in the two directions intersecting substantially at right angle, 30 to 150% elongations, respectively in the two directions intersecting at right angle, and 1.0 to 5.0 ratio between the two direction elongations (wherein the smaller elongation is used as the denominator, when the ratios of the elongations in the 2 directions are different) and an adhesive layer (a) which contains a transdermally absorbable drug and is laminated on one surface of said film layer in 2 to 60 .mu.m thickness enables transdermal absorption of a clinically effective amount of a drug with skin rashes reduced. Additionally, a backing sheet may be preferably provided, for example, the plaster made of said film layer (3) and said adhesive layer (a) (4) is press-bonded via an adhesive layer (b) (2) to a backing sheet (1) and a release film (5) to give a plaster of improved handleability.

摘要: A bandage for the transdermal or topical administration of a drug over an extended period of time comprising an impermeable backing sheet, a solid drug pellet on the backing sheet, and a layer of contact adhesive covering the pellet and backing sheet. In another form, the adhesive is carried by a web made of a non-woven or woven fabric. Control over the rate of dissolution of the solid drug can be achieved by varying the type of web fabric, the type of adhesive, and the thickness of the adhesive.

摘要: A wound dressing includes a patient interface layer, a wicking layer, an absorbent layer, and a cover layer. The patient interface layer is configured to engage a wound bed and has a first side and a second side, the second side configured to face the wound bed. The wicking layer, absorbent layer, and cover layer all also have a first side and a second side. A perimeter of the first side of the wicking layer is adhered to the second side of the cover layer, forming an adhesive border surrounding the wicking layer and the absorbent layer, and the wicking layer is configured to peripherally wick perspiration from underneath the adhesive border towards the center of the wicking layer and upwards towards the absorbent layer.
