摘要:
A water vapor permeable dressing, such as a surgical dressing, is constructed of a thin elastomeric transparent film which is protected by a layer of non-woven fabric, such as a material of elastomeric filaments. The fabric is sufficiently thin, elastic and fluffy to absorb stress of abrasive objects so as to protect the underlying film. Both the film and the protective fabric are sufficiently thin and compliant to allow the dressing to conform to the contours of the human body. Adhesive used in the dressing, for securing the film to a person's skin, as well as for securing the fabric to the film, are permeable to water vapor. The film and the adhesives are impermeable to liquid water, thereby to provide an effective shield for a wound against infection by outside bacteria. A method of administering a topical reagent to a patient is disclosed. The method involves (1) imprinting a topical reagent upon the surface of a release sheet, (2) applying adhesive to a conformable elastic film, (3) joining the imprinted release sheet surface and the adhesive layer surface together, (4) separating the release sheet and film and (5) applying the film to a patient so that the topical reagent is in direct contact with the patient's skin.

The present invention relates to absorbent products such as plasters and bandages, surgical wound dressings, female sanitary protection products, baby napkins, e.g. disposable napkins, and incontinence products. An absorbent product of the invention comprises an absorbent material, at least partially faced by a cellular plastics film, preferably a polyolefin film, e.g. polyethylene film, having perforations which have been produced by passing electrical discharges therethrough. The absorbent material may be entirely embraced by the cellular plastics film, or one face of the absorbent material may be covered by the cellular plastics film and another face optionally covered by a backing sheet.

An absorbent wound dressing (1) includes a polymer foam layer (3) having a plurality of discrete zones (2) on at least one surface (4) of the foam layer, the material forming the zones being less swellable than the foam layer material, such that when the dressing is placed with the zones of polymeric material in contact with a wet surface, the zones move apart as the foam layer absorbs fluid and swells.

An absorbent device which comprises an absorbent layer having an apertured contoured polymer film attached to a surface, wherein this surface is provided with a plurality of depressions which communicate directly with the apertures in the film. The device may be produced by separating the polymer film and a carrier material which have been formed into a laminate having impressed therein raised areas defining, for example, the strands of net and depressed areas such that upon separation the depressed areas of the film remain attached together with associated portions of the attached absorbent, to the carrier, leaving the raised areas attached to the remainder of the absorbent.

A tattoo aftercare assembly comprises an air-permeable transparent film such that the tattoo is visible through the film when applied thereto. The assembly further includes a carrier layer configured to be removable from the film. An adhesive is applied between the film and the carrier layer. A backing cover is positioned on an opposite side of the film than the carrier layer. The film and carrier layers are slightly narrower and shorter than the backing cover such that the backing cover is easily removable from the film. The film is configured for application over a newly-created tattoo for at least 12 hours, preferably up to 3 days.

A conventional wound covering bandage, which completely covers the wound area in an airtight, is provided with at least one opening located over the wound area, on which a stack of layers is provided, which comprises at least a filter disk, at least one paper-like disk which allows vapor diffusion but is water-impermeable, and at least one further flexible film, likewise having an opening, the flexible film and the bandage being superposed with respect to one another and the opening in the flexible film being in registry with the opening in the bandage. The flexible film covers and seals off all the aforementioned stack of layers by adhering to a face of the water-impermeable disk and a border area on a face of bandage circumscribing the stack of layers. The water-impermeable disk seals off the layer stack on the side facing the outside air.

The invention relates to a method for producing a flat porous product, in which a solution of an elastomeric material is deposited on a temporary substrate and the elastomeric material is coagulated on the substrate from the solution with the aid of a nonsolvent, wherein the surface of the substrate has an adhesion to the coagulating elastomer which is such that, after coagulation, the elastomeric flat product can be removed from the substrate without damage and the side (macroporous zone or bottom layer) of the elastomeric flat product facing the substrate possesses pores having a diameter in the region of 20-200 .mu.m and has a porosity of more than 75%, a flat product which can be obtained according to this method for use as wound covering material and a method for treating wounds therewith.

A material which transmits wound moisture, made up of an upper layer of an elastomer having a thickness of 0.01-0.2 mm which is provided with pores having a diameter not exceeding 0.7 .mu.m and a pore density of 1-75% of the surface, and a lower layer of an elastomer having a thickness of 0.05-1 mm which is provided with macropores having a diameter of 50-200 .mu.m, at least some of the walls of said macropores being provided with micropores having a diameter of 0.1-0.25 .mu.m, is provided. The material of the invention meets a number of conditions making it suitable for the use of artificial skin.
